Robert: Cora, I have to tell you something.
Cora: I'm afraid I'm not giving you anymore of my money. 💰💰
Robert: It's not that. I'm afraid it's much worse.
Cora: Robert, you're scaring me now. What is it?
Robert: Nine months ago, when I went up to London, I...I slept with somebody.
Cora: But why are you only telling me this now??????? And why did you have the affair??
Robert: I felt like you didn't love me, and this woman was prepared to love me.
Cora: So why are you telling me this? Robert, is she pregnant?
Robert: No.
Cora: Thank Goodness.
Robert: She was pregnant, and she gave birth yesterday.
Cora: What? Robert, how could you?😥
Robert: I am sorry Cora. But this woman, she can't keep the baby, for reasons I cannot bring up. I need to take it.
Cora: No, you are not bringing your child out of wedlock into this house.
Robert: I never knew you were traditional.
Cora: Robert! You cheated on me, got another woman pregnant and now you expect me to raise the child!
Robert: I am truly sorry Cora, but the damage is done, and I have a child out there in need of a home.
Cora: What would we tell the others?
Robert: That she is your daughter. Our girls are too young to understand it, so they'll believe it.
Cora: What about the servants?
Robert: I don't know. Please Cora, you have to help me, and my child.
Cora: Very well. I luckily was in America a few months ago, remember? And I stayed for 4 months because I didn't want to come back to you. We'll tell everyone I gave birth in America, and she was living with my mother for the past month and I've decided to bring her home.
Robert: Will your mother go along with the story?
Cora: I'll make her.
Robert: Thank you Cora, this won't happen ever, ever again.
Cora: It better not. What is the child's name?
Robert: Elizabeth Darrel.
