Chapter 118

Niall

"What are you doing here?" Preston asked me once I opened the door of the car. I had to, even though Louis tried to stop me from doing it. "Don't open the door." He warned me but I gave him only a look and did what Preston wanted from me.

"We.. We.." I started but all of a sudden was lost for words. I couldn't tell Preston we were up to go and drive away. Could I?

"Yes? I'm listening. You better tell me the truth because this.." He first pointed at me and then at Louis, before pointing at Zayn and Harry in the back of the car, "...looks suspicious. You stole the keys from me. I should have known that your interest in me was all a lie. I'm quite upset, to be honest." He didn't look sad at all but very, very frightening.

"I wanted to go and see Kelsey." I gave in and looked to the floor. "I'm sorry for lying to you." I whined. Damn, I really like Preston and betraying him didn't feel good, at all.

I heard Louis mumbling something but I decided to not pay any attention to him. He was probably scared that he will get punished for helping me, helping a friend.

"And where does your Kelsey girl live, if I may ask?" Preston sure did surprise me with his reaction. I was expecting something else, like yelling at me and the boys or dragging us out of the car. But Preston seemed calm and that was a scary thing.

"About 50 miles from here. Why?" I looked up and blinked.

Preston sighed and walked around the car. He then opened the door on Louis' side of the vehicle and dragged him out. "Get in the back." He told him and took Louis seat behind the steering-wheel.

"You ready for a road-trip?" The first thing I thought was that he must be joking. The second one came shortly after as in why the hell would he drive me to Kelsey's place when we have to leave Liverpool at eight in the morning. Thirdly, I was wondering what the catch was. There had to be a catch. There's always a catch.

"Yes we are." Harry cheered when I didn't say something. Yes I was lost for words. Again. Preston sure is a good lad.

And that's how I ended up in front of Kelsey's house, not only because of the help from my lads but also thanks to Preston. I owe him a pizza and tickets to a football match, that was his condition. He promised us not to tell David but somehow I think that our manager knows about all this. Just when I was about to jump out of the car, Preston told me that I have until ten before they would come and pick me up again. That's two hours. Not much but better than nothing.

However, the only important thing is that I am here now, standing in front of her, looking at her, pleading for her to say something, anything.

I see tears rolling down her cheeks and I feel horrible. I shouldn't have showed up, it was a big mistake. But when I now leave she thinks I'm running away and that's something I don't want her to think, in case she is thinking anything at all.

"Would you please say something." I hear myself saying. She only shakes her head and the crying gets even worse.

Maybe I shouldn't say anything and wait for her to speak up. I don't want to push her, even though she still owes me an explanation. I made the first step and now it's her turn.

"I've got a bit more than an hour so I'm just going to wait here until you find the words back." I shrug with my shoulders and bite my lip.

That wasn't very nice and may have come out rude or somewhat rude. I didn't want any of this.
