Chapter 107
Kelsey
After I say good-bye to Emily by giving her a brief hug, I head out of the building and look around to see if I can find Jack anywhere. There's not much time left before the boys will be on the radio and I have a feeling that I shouldn't miss out on the interview. No I definitely shouldn't. I take a deep breath and lean myself against the wall. If Jack won't show up in the next five minutes, I have to make sure to catch the next bus home.
"Hey." Someone pats my shoulder and when I look up, Jack is standing in front of me.
"Let's go." I mutter and grab his arm to drag him along with me.
"Seems like someone can't wait go and get home." He laughs but I only roll my eyes. I'm not in the mood for any kind of jokes right now. Time is running out.
"Shut up. Where the hell were you?" I ask him.
"Chatted with someone from class." He tells me. What a liar he is.
"You're not really the chatty person. So don't lie to me."
"I am." He winks at me. Only a few meters until we finally reach the car, which means I definitely get to listen to the boys. I am excited, somehow. Even though Niall aren't even friends anymore, I want to hear what he and the lads have been up to. It's not like I'm not interested in his life anymore, because I am. If I wouldn't have done what he told me to do, maybe just maybe we would still talk or even better be together, as in having a real relationship. Keep dreaming, I laugh at myself. There's no way Niall would have believed me anyway.
"Where you want to go?" Jack looks at me once we both have climbed into the car.
"I don't care. Maybe I need to get drunk after I've listened to Niall talking on the radio." I joke. My mood is better by now, since I now know, that no matter what, I won't miss out on anything.
"Wait." He says and turns around to get his bag from the backseat. I wonder what he's doing and what I should be waiting for.
"Here." After a few seconds he pulls out a bottle of vodka and hands it to me.
"No way." I laugh. He knows me better than I thought he would.
"Yes way." He chuckles. I look at the bottle in my hands and shake my head. I was only joking when I said I might need alcohol but the fact that he brought vodka is hilarious. Who could he have known that I would mention something like that?
"Thanks. But why no whisky?" I wink at him.
"Because my name is not Daniels." Oh dear. Good way to shut me up, Jack.
I actually have nothing to say to that but instead check the time on my phone after pulling it out of the pockets of my jeans.
"Let's just drive around." I suggest and my friend nods in agreement.
"Okay." He leans forward to turn on the radio and as soon as I hear Scott Mill's voice, I close my eyes.
"After the next song, I'm joined by five lads. Get ready girls." I am ready, maybe. Of course I'm far away from being ready.
"I bet the song is shitty." Jack gives me a thumbs up. I guess that's his way of showing me that he's got my back and that I've got his support.
"I don't care about the song." I mumble.
"I know." My friend sighs and turns on the engine. Minutes feel like hours at the moment. Until I realise that I've been lying to myself. What the hell am I actually doing here? This is not how it should be, me listening to Niall on the radio instead of talking to him face to face or even over the damn phone.
