Chapter 140
Kelsey
We don't stop at a service station and neither does Jack show me his so called "sex-skills". The rest of the drive goes by rather quickly since I eventually fall asleep at some point and don't wake up before the car stops right in front of my house.
"Wake up sleepy head." Jack shakes me slightly and then a bit more forcefully.
"I'm already awake. I just haven't opened my eyes yet because I was afraid to go blind by looking at you." I say and then take a deep breath.
"This was the last time I drove you to that Irish bloke. I'm no longer your cab, sex cab or whatever you want to call it." I know he isn't serious and means it as a joke because I know he wouldn't do that. He would practically do everything for me. Why? Well that's a mystery to me.
"Oh stop it. We both know that's not true." I eventually open my eyes and turn around to give him a sweet, innocent smile.
"You'll see."
"Yes, I guess I will. Thank you for the ride, though." I unbuckle my seatbelt and open the car door a few seconds later.
"My pleasure. Or not since I didn't have as much fun as you had." He gives me a wink and then leans forward to give me a quick hug. "See you tomorrow my ex-friend." He pats my hair one last time before I free myself out of the embrace and hop out of the car.
"Be on time. See you tomorrow at half eight." I wave him good-bye and close the door.
I don't look back when Jack starts the engine and drives off. I debate with myself whether to walk into the house or wait a few minutes outside to collect my thoughts. Yes, my mind is still in London and still with Niall. I wonder what he's doing right now and if he is thinking about me. Probably not but you never know. He seemed to have a great time as well. I mean, I wasn't too bad. Before I can think about more details, I take the last few steps toward the front door but don't open it to get into the house. Instead, I sit down on the porch and burry my head in my hands.
After what feels like hours, I lean forward and grab my bag which is laying in front of me. "Why not?" I ask myself loudly and then pull out my phone. Yeah why not calling him and letting him know that I wish I'd be in London and with him? It's not that big of a deal and I'm pretty sure he'll be happy to hear those exact words from me. Earlier, when were saying good-bye, Niall didn't seem to want to let go of me. It was kind of cute.
When I look at the display of my phone, I see that it's still turned off from yesterday. I wanted to save some battery and must have forgotten to switch it on again. I wonder if I have any missed calls or messages from Deb. But when I type in the passcode and wait for any notifications, it is not Deb who has tried to contact me. It's Niall.
*Text me when you home safe! Nialler*
I wonder if I should call him and talk to him or quickly send him a text. When I look through my contacts and his name pops up, the decision is made. I press the "call" button and a couple of seconds later I can hear it ringing on the other end of the phone. But he doesn't pick up. After the fourth ring, it's his voicemail answering for him. I quickly hang up before the peep.
"Kelsey." Nate comes running out of the house and throws his arms around me from behind. His voice is full of joy which makes me forget about Niall not picking up when I've called him.
"Nate.. you missed me?" I ask him before he lets go of me and quickly hurries to my side to sit down next to me.
"Yes. Without you it's boring. How's your friend with the yellow hair?"
