Chapter Thirty-Three

After my run in with Drew, I drove home to an empty house. Matt and Anna decided to do some last minute baby shopping before she had the twins.

I parked the car in the drive way, stepping out to retrieve my bag from the backseat. I quickly turned around and was once again startled, this time by Austin.

"Jesus Christ!" I almost screamed, him doing that quiet laugh only he can do.

"Hi," he smiled as my expression remained stiff.

"What do you want Austin?"

"I wanted to talk to you. I figure that other guy already has and I want my turn to explain,"

"Yeah right," I laughed, slamming the door and walked towards the house.

"Cam, come on. Please don't be like that," he pleaded.

"I just don't see the point in talking to you," I shot at him as his hand grabbed a hold of my arm.

"Just give me ten minutes," he slowly spoke.

We held our gaze for a moment before I unlocked the door.

"You get five,"

We entered the house. Austin took a step into the kitchen as I tossed my keys down onto the table and headed into my room to put my bag down. I threw the bag to the door and turned back around to head back to the kitchen.

When I entered, Austin stood by the sink, waiting for me to say something.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, barely able to breathe.

"I wanted to apologize. For everything,"

"It's a little late, don't you think?" I spat.

"Better late than never right?" He stated, gripping onto the sink for support.

I shot him a longing stare before he stepped closer to me.

"Cam, I'm sorry,"

"Just don't. Do you know the hell that you've put me through? Do have any idea what I've been through since the time you've been gone? I have been losing my mind and I've been going through hell all because of you!"

"You don't think it's been hard for me too? I've missed you every second of every single day that I've been gone. You're all I've thought about and you're all that I cared about!" He yelled, the two of us stepping closer into each other's presence.

"Then why didn't you come back?" I almost screamed.

"Because I thought I was doing what was right!" He paused, reaching his hand to his head, "I thought if I loved you, I should let you go. But leaving? That was the biggest mistake of my life,"

"I wanted to be with you," I spoke, this time becoming hysterical,
