Chapter Fifty-Four
*Cam's POV*
"Anna!" I whispered, a smile spreading from each cheek.
"Hi," she spoke, weakly, "I'm glad to see you still here,"
"Of course," I smiled.
"You know, since you were obviously the last thing I saw before I passed out," she began, "the last thing I thought about was how nasty I was to you. And I didn't think that I'd ever get the chance to apologize, but I'm sorry for being a rude bitch to you for so long," she laughed as Matt and I added in.
"It's okay. I'm kind of a bitch, too. But regardless, I look at you as a sister. A sister that I occasionally want to throw a rock at but a sister," I smiled down at her.
"Okay. I'm already emotional so just go see my babies," she laughed before I quickly hugged her before Matt and I got on our way.
**
The babies were beautiful. Morgan had Matt's deep brown eyes while Matthew (or Matty as we decided to call him because otherwise it would be quite confusing) had Anna's almost hazel eyes. Matt and I stood across from each other as he held Morgan and I held Matty.
"So, what do we do now?" I asked.
"I don't know. I've always been so used to it being You and I. Then it was You, Anna and I and now there's give of us," he smiled down at Morgan.
"We're rebuilding the family," I laughed.
"It was bound to happen eventually. I mean we're both rather good looking," he stated calmly as I giggled.
"Did you just say I was good looking?"
"Yeah. You are," she laughed casually.
"This is an awkward conversation,"
"Don't get ahead of yourself. There won't be any flowers in the attic. I'm just saying I know that you're good looking because I am good looking and were related so obviously,"
"You are ridiculous!" I laughed, "well if you want to freak out just imagine Morgan. You and Anna are both good looking, she'll have to fight the boys off,"
"Oh she won't have to worry about that," he spoke, staring down at her.
"And why not?"
"Because I'll fight them off for her. With a shot gun,"
"Oh God," I finished, closing my eyes.
**
I walked back out into the waiting room, which was completely empty. So much for caring. I walked over to an empty chair to take a breath. It was amazing how life could change so quickly. It was something that made me think a lot about myself and the things I wanted. And the things I didn't want.
I stood from the chair and headed back down to Anna's room to ask Matt for cab money seeming as Austin was MIA.
I took an elevator down to the main floor, heading out to the front entrance before glancing in the hospital restaurant and seeing everyone scattered around a table, laughing and smiling as if nothing had happened.
I shot them a glare to which they quickly caught before Austin took off my way.
I walked out the door quickly and held my hand up for a cab that I would have take me to Austin's to get my car.
"Cam!" He yelled, "are you okay?"
"No. I'm hungry and my so called friends wouldn't even wait for me to go get food. You were all just sitting there as if nothing of any relevance happened tonight,"
"Cam. Would you calm down? Why are you trying to pick a fight with me? I'm sorry that your feelings got hurt. I honestly didn't think it was that big of a deal that we went to eat,"
"Yeah. I don't care," I smugly responded. I was trying to pick a fight with him and I didn't know why. But I would soon.
"Why are you acting like this?" He almost shouted.
"I'm just trying to hail a cab,"
"I'll take you to get your car. I'll drive you," he finished.
"I don't want you to drive me anywhere. I don't want you to help me and I don't want you to try and push your way back into my life!" I yelled as everyone appeared behind us.
"What are you saying?" He spoke, his voice deepening.
"I'm going to get back together with Drew," I blurted out, my eyes widening as I realized why I was picking a fight.
He laughed and nodded as I stared at him.
"Because I ate without you?" He sounded almost like he was joking.
"Because I love him and I want to be with him," I spoke softly.
"Well," he began as I held eye contact with him.
"I'm not the same girl you left. You broke something in me when you left and Drew fixed it,"
"Well," he laughed, "maybe you can call him for a ride because you're never gonna get a cab out here," he finished before storming back inside, everyone following behind him, each sending me a glare as they walked through the door.
I stood, my hand still raise as tears flooded down my cheeks. I listened to my brain but my heart wasn't feeling as pleased with the choice.
