*Just a fair warning, I had already wrote this chapter once and it got deleted so I'm a teensy bit pissed off but I'm rewriting it and hopefully its better this time and I just hope you enjoy! So I'm sorry if it's short. *
*Austin's POV*
Matt was no where to be found. Cam said he went off somewhere with one of the nurses, leaving Cam alone in the hallway near Anna's room. I began towards her, as she began pacing near the window.
"Cam. What's going on? Is everything okay?" I asked, her arm fidgiting beneath my touch.
"No. Nothing is okay. Everything's so messed up and I just don't know what to do to help. I just-" she stopped, she hands reaching up to her face as she sobbed into them.
"Hey, Cam. Look you just need to breath, okay? Just breathe,"
"I can't. I don't know what to do," she continued to sobb.
"Tell me what's happening. What's going on Cam?" I asked.
She took a mnute or two to catch her breath and begin explaining to me what happened.
"We were in the room and Anna was having the twins and she had Morgan second and so we were just helping her, you know? And the nurse asked Matt if wanted to cut the cord and he said yes and Anna kind of just stopped breathing and the doctors say she had a hemorrhage and Matt's so scared and I'm scared and I just dont know what to do,"
"Listen, Cam. I know you don't want to hear this but there isn't anything you can do but let the doctors do their jobs and wait. That's all we can do. We just have to wait for her to wake up,"
"And what if she doesn't, Austin?! What is Matt going to do with these two little babies and no Anna? He can't lose her! This would destroy him," she cried, not just sobbed but cried as she fell against the wall just as Matt had done previously.
It physically pained me to see he in so much pain and so distraught over something. Anna would wake up. She has to wake up. She's Anna.
"It's going to be okay. I promise you that," I added as her head fell against my chest.
"You shouldn't make promise that you can't keep," she added, coldly.
**
Before we knew it, it had been over two hours of waiting for a response. For anything that could ease the tension and the worry in the air. Matt hadn't been seen anywhere and Cam was starting to become even more nervous as we sat along the wall, just waitng.
Destiny appeared, carrying two large cups of coffee and wearing a huge, friendly smile across her face.
"I got these for the two of you," she softly spoke, lowering the coffees so we could reach them.
The two of us, stared at her before quickly glancing back at her as an annoyed expression came across her face.
"I didn't make the damn coffee. Just take it before I throw it on you!" She yelled as we both reached for the cups before she yanked her hands away.
"I'm sick of this!" We heard from the waiting room as we couldn't help but laugh.
"What is it?" Robert's voice echoed.
"Everyone hates my coffee! I think my coffee is delightful but apparentlyeveryone else thinks it disgusting!" She continued, her voice lowering as if she was walking further away from the room.
"I like your coffee!" Robert called behind her.
"He's such a liar," I joked, sippng the coffee which happened to be delicious as she softly laughed.
"I'm sorry, Austin," she blurted after a minute of drinking the coffee.
"For what?" I asked, truly unsure of the answer.
"For blurting out that I still loved Drew earlier. I was wrong for telling you like that and I wrong for saying it in front of all of our friends and I'm just sorry for everything that we've been through. Everything, I'm just sorry,"
"It's fine. I understand what you said. I get it," I lied, trying to hide the hurt in my voice and the fact that every word that came out of her mouth, ripped me apart inside.
"It wasn't okay. And I just want you to know that I'm sorry," she forced a smile.
"Cam," I spoke, pointing to Matt behind her.
"Matt! What's going on? How's Anna? Where are the babies? How are they? Are they okay?" she sped through her words faster than she could think.
"Anna's fine," he sighed, smiling as Cam almost leapt into his arms.
"Oh my Gosh! Matt, that's amazing!"
"I know," he smiled, "and the babies are in the nursery. They're amazing. It's like I didn't know what love truly was until I held them in my arms. It's amazing how this little life is dependent on you and it's terrifying but it's the most amazing feeling I've ever felt in my entire life,"
"Oh my gosh, Matt," she smiled.
"Do you wanna see them?" he asked, her eyes suddenly brightening.
"Yes! Absoutely! But I wanna see Anna first!"
"Well, then let's go!" he gleamed, smiling softly at me.
"Okay!" she followed after him before looking back at me and forcing a smile then entering the room.
Her smile was different. It was just a 'I'll see you later smile.' It was more of a sad smile, a smile that seemed distant. It was as if the smile was her farewell smile. It was a smile that looked as though she was finished. Finished fighting for us.
