Now that you were aboard the Enterprise in all her glory, the captain was the one to give all the orders from now on.
"Now, we will split everyone in about four groups. Once that is done, those groups will be sent with one of our commanders so they can show you all your rooms one by one."
It took only about a minute to split up.
"Okay, group one, you will follow Commander Spock."
He pointed to the group on the far right before gesturing to Spock.
Next he pointed to group two (your group).
"Group two, you will Follow Commander Louis"
He pointed to a tall lady in a red engineer dress.
"Group three, you will go with Commander Gabe, and group four, please follow Commander Alexis."
He clapped his hands and everyone carried on with there duties.
You were the third person to be shown to their room.
It was pretty big for a room. The room was located on deck 7 in between another lieutenant by the name of Alistair, and an ensign named Charles.
The time was around 0600 by the time you got to your room, so everyone who was already on board was most likely going to there stations to work. You, being one of the thirty new recruits, had the first day off to venture and find out where everything was. Of course you were not allowed on the bridge or any other main or restricted areas.
The call for your door went off. You weren't expecting anyone to come to meet you, especially this early into your recruitment. Instead of calling for them to come in, you walked up to the door to greet them personally.
As soon as you hit the button to let the visitor in, you were almost taken aback by who was there.
                              "Luitenant, may I come in?"
                              It was Spock.
                              "Of course, of course! Please."
You stepped to the side to let him in.
"Luitenant, after our meeting on Yorktown, I noticed the amount of your book that you had left to read. I calculated that aside from all your duties, if you continued to read it regulary everyday, it would take you about 3.8 days to finish."
Confused, you wondered why this mattered, and why he had to tell you.
"So," he brought his hands from behind his back, " I dicided to pick this up for you."
He handed you the second book to the one you were reading now. You smiled slightly by his kind gesture.
"I very much appreciate it, Commander!"
He returned his hands to being clasped behind him.
"Yes, well, as you might know, most of the books on the ship are digital. I however find it more enjoyable to read an actual book. I have this series of books in my private library. If you finish this, all you will have to do is ask, and I would be glad to let you have the next one."
You continued to smile as you placed the book down on your side table.
                              Spock bowed his head slightly.
"Now, if you might excuse me, I must take my leave to the bridge. It has been nice speaking with you again, Lieutenant."
                              "Thanks again Commander."
As you said this, Spock headed out of your room.
You placed the book on top of the book you were currently reading on the shelf.
The only things you had to do were to either make yourself familiar with the Enterprise or read.
Either way you were in a good mood after what had just happened, and you figured that being on the Enterprise would be one of the best things in your life.
