After your day of relaxing, you had to get to work. You were a rare exception when it came to your job. Where most people had to choose one profession, you were allowed to study in all three professions since you have a higher level of intelligence compared to most others, apparently? You knew, and were allowed to, work as a scientist, engineer, and commander. With all of this, you were mainly a scientist. You put on your uniform of long black pants, knee high boots, and blue Science insignia shirt.

The area in which you worked you were along-side one of your friends from the academy. Her name was BF/N. She had just chosen to be in the Science district of the academy, but she had alwasy looked up to you for inspiration.

You two had your own lab together. That meant that she would of course have on music like she always did. You always thought it was unofficial, but you secretly thought it was fun.

The first song she always puts on is 'Im so Excited' By The Pointer Sisters.

You tried to keep you sanity as your friend sang and danced around while working as well surprisingly.

That was until someone unexpected walked in.

Scotty, the head engineer, walked in. He was a little shocked to hear such an old song, but he all of a sudden had a huge smile on his face. He walked in, probably forgetting what he came in there to do, started singing along with your friend. His accent made it sound a little funny, but he was having a good time.

You still were just standing there, but you were laughing and smilng along with them.

When the song ended, you all continued laughing...until you noticed the Vulcan standing in the door way.

"Im glad to see some people can have fun."

You quickly got embarrased, and Spock could tell you were.

"Aye, Mr.Spock. This Lass knows good music when she hears it." Scotty laughed as my friend did to. Scotty patted her on the shoulder. You could already tell that they were gonna be good friends.
"Ah, and that reminds me" he said between laughs, "I need you Miss Y/N. I need you in engineering so you could help me with installing the new *sciency tech name* that you brought aboard."

They both walked out and took the lift to engineering.

Spock looked as if he was lost in thought for a minute. Then he began to walk to you.

"Lueitenant, I noticed you went to the lounge yesterday. You were reading were you not"

You looked confused before agreeing.

"Well, you took the book I lent you with you, but you left your book there."

He handed you your copy of the first book.

"Oh, Mr. Spock. Thank you. I guess Im more clumsy than I thought I was."

"It is alright."

"Its funny, Mr. Spock. So far books have always been the thing to bring us together."

You didnt realize what you said until he had a slight look of confusion in his expression.

"Oh w-wait, I mean like talking to each other not like- n-nevermind. Sorry."

"That is also alright. I didnt know when else I would be able to give it back to you, so I figured after my shift would be the most simplistic option."

You could almost see a smile on his face.

"I will see you later Miss Y/N"

"Yes, thanks again, Mr. Spock"

As he walked out, you couldnt help but realize that he didnt call you leuitenant...he called you just miss.
