"Bones...Im sorry. I-I had to tell Jim. We need to go down there, and you know that."
"Yes, but lying to him is not the answer, Y/N."
You hung your head in defeat.
Bones lead you over to the chair that had his jacket on it. As he sat you in the chair he knelt in front of you and placed a hand on your knee.
"Champ...I understand that you and Spock are...together? I cant believe it, but the fact is that you just made a decision that may get Jim and everyone else killed just because of your emotions. We are going to go down there, but now is not the time."
"Bones. You dont understand! We can go down there. It is safe...and I'M not saying this just because of my...emotions. Bones...please. Trust me on this."
Bones stood up and paced around in front of you.
"What made you think it was safe down there on that planet?"
"I-....I cant....explain..."
"uh hu....well...I guess I cant..."
Bones sighed heavily.
"You know...Ive only know you for about two weeks, Champ, and so far...you are the most sane person Ive ever met...but right now...you seem very insane. To be honest...we all are insane in our own ways I guess."
You looked up at the pacing Bones to see where he was going with this.
"Look, Champ...I-I will go along with this 'plan' of yours...for now, but if I see the slightest hint of something bad, I will break off this deal."
You jumped up out of the chair in glee and hugged the doctor that stood in front of you. He hesitantly hugged you back as you laughed.
You pulled back as you headed for the door.
"Ill have you know champ, by going along with this thing of yours, Im risking my job....but...I trust you."
You gave the doctor a thumbs up before you sprinted out the door.
As you reached you room you ran to your closet to pull out a clean uniform. You laid it out so you didn't have to get it out in the morning. If you were going to go down to the planet tomorrow, you didn't want to waste any time in doing so.
After you neatly set your uniform on your bed, you sat in your desk chair and pulled it up so you could lean on the table so you could clear your head. You closed your eyes to help you concentrate on nothing.
Opening you eyes slowly after a few minutes, you noticed the third book that Spock let you borrow.
You smiled at the sight of it. The perfect condition of the hardback cover, the perfect pages that didn't have any bends to them, the way the bookmark stuck out at the top.
You didn't get too far into it after what happened on the planet.
In the book, the character finally got over being a Anglophobe.
The character had so many problems. So many fears. So many emotions.
You realized that all her fears were based on bad emotions, and she never had time for anything good. Like happiness, or love.
You continued to stare at the book. Wondering more about the book and its possible true meaning. Then it struck you that you probably wouldnt have a good time to read it for a while, or at least until everything went back to normal.
You were afraid that it would probably get ruined if your didnt make sure it was ok. It could fall on the floor, someone could take it...
Obviously, you were being over dramatic, but that was probably because it wasn't your book, but most of all, it was Spocks book.
So just in case, you were going to return it to the safety of Spocks room.
You remembered where it was from the last time you went there. You will always remember that night, and what happened....
You opened Spocks door that hadnt been opened since Spock was taken away.
You stepped into the dark room.
As you walked farther in, you flipped the switch to turn on the lights and immediately found his bookcase. As you slipped in back in place with the other books of that series.
As you put it back in its place you stepped back to hear something crinkle under your foot. You looked down and lifted your foot off of what looked to be a piece of paper.
Crouching down, you picked up the paper that was face down. You flipped it over to see a drawing of a woman.
It was very detailed and was in black and white.
As you looked closer, you noticed a lot of very familiar features.
It was your face.
It was a very elegant drawing of your face that seemed to have taken a lot of time and effort.
It all clicked in your head.
Spock drew a picture of you.
