(I couldn't stop thinking about writing this chapter so Im writing this on my phone. I may go back on my computer and edit, but in the meantime, sorry for any mistakes. Also, this book only has a few more chapters to be written. It's hard to think of all these ideas at once so I don't screw it up. Thanks for reading, and I hope you like the chapters to come. :')
The thought of going home washed over you without thought. Everyone was informed that after this mission, the Enterprise would have to dock at YorkTown to have an inspection. This meant all crew members were allowed to go wherever they liked.
You on the other hand didn't feel as if choosing a place to go was important. You hadn't even told your parent yet, so as far as they knew, you would still be on the job during the break period. That would give you the opportunity to travel wherever you'd like.
The thought of leaving everything to travel to somewhere scared you though. You knew you'd be back, but not for three months. In any case, where would you go?
The entire away team was setup in the Transporter room, ready to be given orders from the Captain on what to do and when.
Spock was going through a check list of the members and materials needed. You noticed he kept giving you glances, almost as if he was making sure you we're still there.
Everytime you locked eyes, you couldn't help but look down at the flood since he eyes seemed to have a feeling of sadness to them that make you sick to your stomach.
You leaned on one of the metal walls, the coldness of it washed through your body through the fabric of your clothes.
Minutes before Spock was ready to head off, Jim walked in with his normal punctuality for these situations. Both him and his first officer exchanged glances before Kirk began to speak.
"Crew. Today, we have to be on our best behavior. " He talked as if they were kids. "Today could make of break our ability to create peace between us and their newfound civilization. It shouldn't be a dangerous mission, but we all know from experience that not everything is how it seems. Now, Mr. Scott."
He pointed to Scotty to make sure he was ready to transport them to the surface.
"Aye, Captain. She's ready to go. "
With that, Kirk motioned for everyone to get in their place on the transporter. Some members were already set on the transporter pad since they were ready to go.
You noticed the more you used the transporter, the less you felt the waves surround you. The less you felt the tingling sensation. It almost felt normal to you now.
You knew you'd never get used to the beauty of the world below. As you materialized, you saw the white trees appear in your vision. The beauty of the water that you and Bones had found out wasn't poisonous the hard way. The track that you'd had followed to the town many times before. And the cliff. The cliff that you could've died on if it wasn't for Spock.
                              Spock.
Spock was standing close behind you, and you hadn't even noticed until he placed a hand on your shoulder. Glancing up at him and his tall stature, he bent down to your level to tell you something in secret.
"Please, stay safe on this mission. "
You were confused on why he said that, but the fact he said that made you feel safe from whatever danger he was referring to.
The more you walked the path, the faster it went. Some members we're chatting amongst one another, yet you stayed behind, watching the different facial expressions of the people change with each word spoken.
