What did he mean.
Tap, tap, tap.
Was I going to die?
Tap, tap, tap.
Was that real?
Tap, tap, tap.
When would I die?
You awoke with a jolt. Sitting up quickly, you felt your forehead which had been covered in sweat.
"It was...all a dream?"
You heard three knocks come from the door.
"Aye, lass. You might want to wake up at some time. I have a surprise for you!"
A friendly voice came from you door. You looked down and saw you were still in your uniform from yesterday. It was strange since you always changed.
The dream you had last night seemed to be distant from your mind as you quickly walked over to the door. As you hit the button on the side, your door pushed open revealing a smiling Scotsman.
"Hello, lass."
"Hello, Scotty."
"Oh! Yes, ok, follow me!" he exclaimed as if he had forgotten for a second.
You smiled at his excitement, but was also curious of what he wanted to show you.
You ended up being taken to the bar which you weren't really surprised of since you had heard of his love for alcohol.
He motioned for you to sit down at a table that had only one other person sitting at it.
You recognized that curly blonde hair anywhere.
"Hello, Y/N," the Russian said to you with a smile.
"Chekov," you nodded in response.
"Alrighty, lass. Take a seat and I'll show you."
You complied as he bent over under his seat and pulled out a glass bottle of what you assumed to be some sort of alcohol. The glass was blue and red and had a no cap. Instead in seemed to have a little blue force-field of some sort to keep the liquid in.
"What is that, Scotty?" you asked him.
"It's alcohol, lass!" he said excitedly. He seemed to not know you were asking what kind.
Chekov sighed at the Scotsmans' dumb response.
"Obviously...but what kind?" you asked clearing up what you asked before.
"Scotch of course! This isn't no ordinary Scotch though. I found this beauty in my dads old locker. Bless his soul, but if this is older then him, then this Scotch must be older then the world itself!" he said with a laugh.
Chekov rolled his eyes as you chuckled with him.
"OK, Scotty," you smiled, "but what does this have to do with me?"
"Well, lass. I was hopin' you'd try it with me?"
You couldnt say no to him even though you werent a big drinker.
"Alright, Scotty. Is Chekov going to try it as well?"
Chekov scoffed. "Me? Drink that? No, Ill stick with wodka, thank you."
"You mean that diluted soda water?"
Chekov scoffed again and laid his head on the table with his arms crossed under it.
"Alright, Scotty," You started, "lets see what you got."
The Scotsman poured two glasses of the gold alcohol into two tall glasses.
He pushed one over to you.
"Alright, lass. Down the hatch."
You both began to drink the scotch. You immediately wanted to spit it out, but forced yourself to swallow it. It was probably the strongest thing you had ever tasted when it came to alcohol.
Scotty ended up finishing it in one go.
"My, my, my. Thats good. How 'bout you, lass? Did'ja like it?"
You nodded quickly as you lost feeling in you tongue.
Chekov noticed you didnt like it as it seemed to go over Scottys' head.
"Ya, you can tell wery well that she liked it," he said as he laughed and smiled at you.
~Spocks POV~
He never understood humans fascination with alcohol. Any species really. To him, it tasted like soap. To him it didnt have a good taste, and the feeling seemed unnecessary to him. Even though he was incapable of getting drunk, he still didnt understand why humans wanted to be drunk so much.
He watched from afar as he saw your obvious expression of disgust, and that Scotty was oblivious to it. He sighed as he walked over to the bar.
~Your POV~
You tried to keep your mind off of it as you tried to keep Scotty happy. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed a tall figure with his hands behind his back walk towards you.
"Ensign, Commander. May I have a word with lieutenant Y/N alone?"
"Aye, of course, Mr. Spock. Good bye, Lass."
Scotty walked toward the door with Chekov following him, as Chekov usually did.
Spock turned towards you and placed a glass of water in front of you that he had been hiding behind his back.
You quickly took the water and began to down it as you tried to get the taste of the strong scotch out of your mouth.
"Im sorry for Commander Scottys' behavior. I hope he didnt cause to much harm at this early hour."
You shook your head as you placed the now empty glass on the table.
"No, Mr. Spock. No harm was done."
He looked at the empty glass.
"Would you like another?"
You smiled at his kindness.
"No, Mr. Spock. Im fine, thank you."
"Good, but what I came here to ask you is if you wanted to take some time so I may be able to show you something of my own?" he said with a blank expression.
"It isnt more alcohol is it."
The smallest smile appeared on his face.
"No, I assure you it isnt."
He stood up swiftly and offered his hand to you to help you stand up as well.
"Alright," you said as you took his hand, "what is it you want to show me?"
