Louis's POV

I received a not-so-friendly phone call this morning from my mum. She was mad that it's taken me over a month to even ask Phoebe to come and see them all. I told her that I just hadn't gotten the courage to bring it up, but she was not happy with that answer. She told me I should come down this weekend, as in tomorrow, and stay for a few days so she can meet this girl. Now, I'm going mad because I have no idea how to ask Phoebe. It's not some small thing for her to meet my mum and it's kind of terrifying.

"Good morning bum. Get up and go to work." I hear Harry's voice outside my door.

"Joke is on you, I don't have work today. Dean is back." I grumble. Just because I've been awake, doesn't mean I'm not grumpy. That phone call put me on edge.

"Just get up. You know you want to go see her." He teases and I roll my eyes. I do want to see her, honestly. I want to see her and have coffee with her this morning, that would be nice, but I have to ask this question and I'm terrified at what she'll do.

"Louis?" Harry asks through the door.

"I'm awake. Chill out." I say and sit up. He walks into my room and opens the blinds.

"Ah, what a wonderful day. You better get out there and ask Phoebe to go to your mums house." He says and I look at him funny.

"She called me to bother you about it, give you that extra push you need." He says and I nod.

"Of course she did." I say. My feet leave my bed first, planting themselves on the ground. This is going to be fun.

"Louis!" Phoebe says happily and I'm shocked by how brightly she's smiling. I receive a hug and hold her tightly in my arms. I hand her a coffee which she immediately begins drinking.

"Having fun, Bee?" I ask. She shrugs and goes behind the desk to flip through the expenses book Dean left her.

"How's he doing?" I ask as I think of the guy.

"He's alright, yeah. He hasn't told me differently. He was just crazy about her. I can't imagine what it's like." She says and frowns.

"I hope he's good. He's so nice and kind and he's like that average happy old grandpa that's in movies and loves his grandkids and-"

"You're babbling Louis, what's going on?" She asks and I sigh. I guess I should just get to the point. She's staring at me waiting for my answer.

"Well-"

"Hi welcome to Dean's!" She says as I hear the door open. I frown as I'm cut off and step aside just in case the girl needs Phoebe's help. When I turn I see it's a little girl. I smile.

"Hi. Do you have any poem books by Shel...Shel?" The girl asks.

"Silverstein?" Phoebe asks and the girl nods quickly.

"I think so. Follow me." Phoebe says and gestures the girl down an aisle with her. I peer around the corner and see them sitting next to one another on the floor. Phoebe has around six different books stacked up.

"Oh I love this one! Can you read them or does your mum read them to you at night?" Phoebe asks, picking up a book.

"Sometimes she reads books to me, but she told me to come in here today and buy any book I want. I can read, too. I like Shel, but I like it when people read to me more." The girl says and Phoebe smiles.

"Well how about I read a few of the books and you pick your favorite one out of all of them?" Phoebe asks her.

"I think he likes Shel too." The little girl says and I see her finger pointed at me.

"Oh that's just Louis. He's my stalker around here. Don't worry, he doesn't bite." Phoebe answers and I laugh.

"Do you wanna listen too?" The little girl asks.

"Oh I'm sure he has better things to do, but-"

"Sure! Id love to." I tell them and they both smile.

"Alright, which one first?" Phoebe asks. The little girl points to The Missing Piece and Phoebe nods.

"The Missing Piece. It was missing a piece. And it was not happy. So, it set off in search of it's missing piece..." She continued reading the book. I watched her carefully and I watched the little girl excitedly listen along, a bright grin on her face. Phoebe read the story with such energy and excitement, so the girl seemed to be in heaven. I zone out watching Phoebe read. She finally did finish and closed the book slowly.

"I like that one." The little girl says.

"Is this the one you want?" Phoebe asks. The girl thinks to herself for a minute and shakes her head.

"I want this one." She says and points to Where the Sidewalk Ends. I smile as Phoebe lifts it up.

"Do you want me to read any from this one?" Phoebe asks.

"Just one. My mom said she likes the poem Love." The girl answers. Phoebe flips through the book and smiles.

"Love. Ricky was 'L' but he's home with the flu, Lizzie our 'O,' had some homework to do, Mitchell, 'E,' prob'ly got lost on the way, so I'm all of love that could make it today." Phoebe says. The girl scoots closer and pulls the book onto her lap. She reads the poem herself and seems to pet the character drawn on the page.

"Mummy said this poem reminds her of daddy. He loved Shel a lot, almost as much as mummy." She says and smiles.

"It's a wonderful poem." Phoebe says back. The girl starts to flip through the book and look at all of the other poems.

"I want this one." She says after a minute. The little girl stands up and hands Phoebe the book.

"Well then you'll get this one." Phoebe says. The little girl takes Phoebe's hand and pulls her up the aisle. I have to say Bee looks a bit shocked, but delighted nonetheless.

"How much money is it?" The girl asks.

"I only have 1...2...3...4...5-"

"Here, I'll count and give you your change sweetie." Phoebe says and takes the cash. I look up and see there's not a lot of money. Phoebe looks down at the book and back up at the girl.

"Perfect change!" She says. I smile at my girlfriend as I watch the girl pull the book off the counter again.

"Thank you." She says sweetly.

"Annabelle!" A woman yells and the girl turns quickly. She hides the book behind her back.

"Where have you been? I've been going up and down the street looking for you all over." The woman says and hugs the little girl. Phoebe looks confused, and so do I. The girl said her mother sent her in here.

"Mummy you said I could come in here." She says.

"I meant with me, pumpkin. Oh, I hope she wasn't any trouble. She's really a sweet girl. She just loves books." The woman says.

"No! She was a pleasure. We were all sitting on the floor reading together a few minutes ago." Phoebe says.

"She does enjoy that." The woman replies.

"She can come back any time she wants to and read with us. I'll be here every day of the week." Phoebe says and the little girl grins.

"Really? Mummy, can I? Oh please? Can I come visit my friends?" She asks.

"If it isn't a bother, then yes." Her mother answers. The woman looks up at Phoebe.

"No, I'd love to read with her. She was so sweet today." Phoebe answers.

"Well, we better get going then. Thank you again for all of this." The woman says and I realize the inevitable has finally struck me. I have to ask her to meet my mum this weekend.
