Monique's POV

"No", I answered.

"What did you just say?" Calligaris asked with his face full of confusion. Walang respeto ba ang lalakeng to? Parang walang modo ah?

"I said NO. I won't have dinner with you. And by the way Sir," I said looking at Papa.

"I suggest to decline the client's proposal" I continued with a smile on my face.

"You think?" He asked and I can see a half smile on Papa's face.

"Big YES Sir. I can't partner up with a company who does black mail. It's very unreasonable. That shows that they are not grounded with their company values. That's absurd and Mr. Ares Martin Calligaris right here," I paused and looked at him.

"He is an example of that." I said looking directly to his eyes.

"I won't buy that proposal if I were you, Sir." I continued.

Papa just nodded to agree.

"The door is open for you Mr. Calligaris." I said as I gestured him towards the door.

"I guess it's pretty clear to you that we are not honoring that kind of attitude in our company. You are a prestigious hit in the business industry but do you really have to act like that? This is pure business Mr. Calligaris. Don't involve your personal heartaches in to this." I said with a sarcasm on my tone and I saw his fist na kumuyom.

Still, he acted cool. *smirk*

"My apologies Mr. Cold." He said.

"Never mind what I have said to your daughter a while ago. I was just kidding." He reasoned.

"Kidding? Seriously Mister? This is a business meeting and we are talking about partnership between your company and our company. Why would you include some informal stuff on this? Is this some kind of a joke to you? In the very first place, you came here for your proposal. We didn't ask from you. It's your company's pure intention, right? So what if I'll tell you that we don't need you in our company?" Napatingin ang lahat sa akin na gulat.

"We are an established company and we don't do black mailing. We have clean works here. No more hidden agendas." I continued at tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

Siguro nararamdaman din ng mga tao dito ang tensyon sa aming dalawa at napatikhim nalang si Papa.

Nakatingin pa rin sa akin si Ares at nakipagsukatan.

"Mr. Calligaris, maybe we can just have another meeting tomorrow?" It was Alex who broke the silence inside the room.

"I guess tomorrow is the perfect time." Ares replied and he rested his back sa swivel chair without breaking his stare at me.

"Very well. Meeting adjourned. See you tomorrow everyone." I looked at Papa and smiled at him matapos niyang sabihin yon.

Lumabas na ang lahat sa conference room at napaiwan doon si Ares at ang kanyang assistant. Di ko lubos maisip na maiisipan niyang itanong yung dinner over the board meeting. Hay naku, mga tao talaga.

"Alex" lumingon ako nakita kong kapatid ko ang tumawag sa akin.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"Ahh, home?" Saan pa nga ba ako pupunta? Pinadala ko naman kay Kathleen ang mga damit sa bahay namin.

"You're not yet going home. We'll have lunch sa office ni Papa. He wants to talk to you." Sabi ni Alex in a serious tone. What is it this time now? Sinundan ko lang siya sa office ni Papa.
