Fruits & Fractals

Dim cloudy moonlight out tonight
It's solemn & quiet & strong
My mind starts to dance along
Why do I always reach for the fruit I can't bite?

Just out of reach I can see the blossoms
Cherries & apples, peaches & pears
I'm sick of oranges yet it's all I bear
The acidity is starting to cause problems.

Orchards vary in shapes & sizes
Only one has the earth we tilled
Only one holds me still
In the dead of night when my craving rises

The hazy aura surrounds the celestial body
Refracting & retracting & growing
All is unclear under the veiled glowing
Spinning images mingle with brainwaves oddly

Fruit & fractals parade around
All twisted poetic creations
To portray mishaps & relations
Looking for what I lost & never found

Water & moonlight nurture my tree
Blooming into a medley of foliage
Perfect for you & I to take a stroll in
But others paved the path before us you see

So when you crush the fruits into jam
Smear the sticky sweetness around
Play with my heart whilst you suck it down
All the while fractals spin overhead

Branches & limbs catch the shapes
Each finding the fruit they're fit for
Nuzzling in the leaves they adore
Bending their bough until it breaks

When the orchards are vacant
And the moonlight fades away
I can see it clearly in the light of day
As the breeze blows so fragrant

Your fruit & my fractals can be
There's no telling how it'll work
But oh man I'll bet it's worth
All in all I'll nurture you
If you nurture me
