Convincing a girl as stubborn as me to do something proved more difficult than I anticipated.

"I have homework!"

"Then its a study date."

"Its family dinner night!"

She huffed and turned away from me.

I smiled and pulled her back onto my chest, my head resting on hers.

"You suck."

I laughed.

"You argue like the six year old you are."

She turned around and gave an offended gasp.

"How dare you call me six! I am obviously seven!"

I heard a car honk and turned.

My mom was looking at me and waving.

"Awh, your mom picks you up? That's adorable."

I glared at her before taking her hand and pulling her towards the minivan.

She was mumbling in Spanish and I just shook my head.

"Speak the English around me."

"The English? You have such excellent grammar, Grace."

I laughed as I slid into the back seat, Sandra trailing behind me.

My mom gave her best smile as she eyed Sandra from the mirror.

"Hello, sweetie."

Sandra sat frozen before conjuring up her voice again.

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Grace."

My mom smiled and looked at me.

"Oh, this is Sandra, Mom. Mom, Sandra."

Sandra rolled her eyes and pushed me.

"Mom, look at this abuse!"

My mom just put her sunglasses and hummed.

I shot a fake glare at Sandra and she smirked.

When we got to my house, I looked across the street and saw Percy had Nico's head in his lap and was playing with his hair.

"Hey mom, we're gonna go talk to Percy and his boyfriend."

My mom looked over and I heard her mutter, "I so fucking called it."

Sandra burst out laughing and my mom hurried inside.

Percy had a bag of candy next to him and was feeding Nico Sour Patch Kids.

Sandra reached into the bag and pulled out a handful of them.

"Hey!" Percy complained.

Sandra grinned and poked me.
