Kade's POV
"Alright, Clara, say goodbye to your friend." Clara continued sniffing the miniature black poodle she met on our walk. I pulled her away, her being reluctant.
The sun burned the asphalt on this summer morning. I swear it gets warmer every morning.
I started to feel nauseous as we started heading to the park. Clara barked and wagged her tail in excitement. The nausea being overwhelming. I pulled Clara away from the park, eager to get home. I could see my house in the open forest clearing of the backyard.
I groaned in pain as the nausea twisted into cramps. I hobbled closer to the house, but the cramps turned into shocks of pain. I screeched, losing grip of Clara's leash.
"BARK!"
Clara jumped circles around me before heading inside through the doggy door. My arm twisted backwards in an unnatural position. A wave of pain engulfed me. My left ankle rolled until I heard a pop and the sole of my shoe was facing towards the Heavens.
More horrid sounds echoed off the forest trees as I continued crying out in pain. I heard a first shift was painful, but this made death seem like a breeze.
My vision got all spotty and I started seeing stars. Before I blacked out, I swore I could see the outline of a body.
~
I woke up with a slight headache, but no body pain. I shook my head and stood up. I felt oddly shorter and stronger like I had been going to the gym since birth. Creepy.
I started walking and for some reason I couldn't walk on two feet. I looked down and almost screamed in excitement and shock. My body was now twenty times the size and covered in midnight black fur.
I had read in one of the books that it was rarer for a female to become a black wolf than a white wolf. I quickly sprinted into the woods, loving the breeze through my fur.
I stumbled upon the riverbank and gazed at my reflection. My eyes were pure black with no color, no iris, no anything. Just like how Mason's were pure white. I growled at the thought of him. Sweet, I can growl.
Mason's POV
I hid in the shadows, my black fur blending well. We were almost identical despite our eyes. I found it strange, but we're related so I guess it runs in the family.
She looked so stupid chasing her tail and all the little woodland creatures. I backed further into the bushes, creating a rustling sound. Kade started growling and looking around.
Her eyes scanned until they met mine. She carefully stalked towards me. I put my front paw forward, getting ready to kill.
"Kade?" A faint make voice called. Her ears perked up and reluctantly sprinted back to her house.
I stepped out of the shadows. I'll get you one day. And that day will bring my rein.
