Kade's POV
"Dad, can we just please leave?!" I murmured, dodging every second in case someone from school sees me.
"Absolutely not! Your mother is at work and I need to become a proper father for my baby girl. Now choose. Stars or hearts?" I watched in horror as Louis held up two training bras.
"Put those down before someone sees!" I snatched the hangers from his grasp. I hate bras, let alone need them. I'm flat as a board and I'm fine with camisoles.
"You're absolutely right, Kade. You're a fan of animal print." He selected zebra and cheetah print bras.
I wanted to die in a hole.
"Dad, why don't you go look at your stuff, I'll choose some for myself." I pushed on his back so he would move.
"Ok ok, fair enough. Ill meet you here in a half hour." He lectured me before walking off. I let out a sigh of relief.
Ugh, I wish mom didn't get a job as a nurse. She could be here now, helping me decide which bras to get. At least it's not underwear. I shuddered at the thought of my dad lecturing me on the different types.
"And that's when I said, 'dude it wasn't my fault your mom's a bad cook'." I heard a group of guys snicker nearby. I whipped around, craning my neck to see the one guy I didn't want to ever in this situation.
My crush, Mason Teasdale.
Yes! I developed feeling for my best friend's brother. Ironic right?
It's just that I've been around Mason so much that I caught a crush.
He's about two years older than me. I'm just starting fourth grade and he just ended fifth. It's a hopeless love.
Andi is a year younger, but she is in the same grade as me, seeing she's so smart that she moved up. Lux, Andi and I are like the three musketeers. I just wish Copeland was a part of it. She's starting middle school just like Mason. I can't help but feel a little envy.
"Kade? Kade Tomlinson is that you?" Oh my goddess I blacked out again. Darn I wish I could turn invisible like Lux. And I wish I could cuss freely.
I quickly hid the bras in my hand and straightened myself up. "Mason! Hey!" He and his group of friends walked over to me with slushies in hand.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Oh um, looking for my dad." I lied.
"In the bra section?" A small smirk played on his lips. I felt my cheeks tint red.
"You obviously don't know my dad. He could be anywhere from the snowboarding section to the organic fruit bar aisle." I chuckled.
"Kade! I found your favorite boy band!" Oh dear God no...
My dad held up his boyband printed on footy pajamas.
"I think I found him." Mason nodded.
I turned around with a pained expression. "That's my dad for you."
"I'll see you later, Kade." I ached to see him walking away from me. He probably thinks I'm a freak, besides being a Lybrid.
