"How's that new apartment going?"

"It's been a year already and you've asked that more then sixty times, the whole year," I said chuckling
"What? I worry about my favorite couple,"
"We're fine mom," I said smiling
"Excuse me,"
"Yes?" The waiter asked
"Can I please get a tray,"
"Of course, I'll be back," She said smiling
"Thank you," My mom said smiling
I grabbed my phone and had so many missed calls from Ethan. I furrowed my eyebrows and tried calling him, but my mom stopped me.
"How's your job going?"
"Mom,"
"Hmm,"
"I'm a barista, I work at Starbucks,"
"It's not too late to start your career,"
"Mom, I told way too many times, I have stage fright how do you think I'll be singing and playing in front of people,"
"I'm just saying, never bothered you when you played the piano and sang at your grandmas every Christmas,"
"That's because it was only my grandparents, aunt Judy, Lizbeth and you,"
"Whatever, please Y/n, do something with your life, your eighteen and I'm starting to worry that you might end up working at Starbucks your whole life,"
"Mom, I don't mind working at Starbucks, plus my check isn't that low and I get a fifty dollar gift card every time there is a holiday," I said smirking
She sighed and smiled.
"Here's your tray, would you like me to bring the tab?" The waiter asked
"Please," My mom said smiling
"Mom, what about you?"
"What about me?"
"You know, now that I'm not living with you, you're alone now and I worry as well,"
"Y/n, I'm fine. Don't worry about my old ass,"
"Mom," I said laughing
"What, its true, plus gives me more time to you know,"
"What?" I said furrowing my eyebrows
"I still have that vibrator your aunt Judy gave me,"
"Eww mom, stop," I said massaging my temples
She laughed and leaned back.
"Here you go,"
Before my mom grabbed it I slapped her hand lightly and picked it up.
"I'll pay,"
"No, Y/n it's okay,"
