Today was me and my boyfriend Carter's 2 year anniversary. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend honestly. He was just perfect. I love him more than you could even Imagine.

It was around dinner time an i haven't heard anything from him all day. I hope he didn't forget. I looked down at my phone and saw that i had finally got a text from Carter.

From: Babe😍💕😘
Hey cutie! Meet me at the beach at 7. I've got a surprise for you. I love you❤️.

I replied with a simple: Will do babe. I love you too😘.

I started to get ready and by the time i finished it was 6:30. I decided that i would head to the beach now because it was about 10-15 minutes away. I was kind of excited and nervous at the same time. But more excited than nervous.

I was wearing my cute new sun dress that i had just bought. It was white at the top with a bright floral flowy bottom. I really loved it.

When i arrived at the beach i parked in the usual spot me and Carter visit. I looked at the sign and saw that there was a note on it. I picked it off and read it:

I bet you look beautiful. Follow the rose petals and you'll find where i am. Can't wait to see you. ~Carter❤️

I looked down and saw the rose petals. Had he really done all of this for me? I guess so.

I followed the rose petals which led to an empty blanket. There was another note:

Your search isnt done yet. Follow the rest of the rose petals to where our first date was. That's where you'll find me. Love you. ~Carter.

This is too cute. He still remembers where our first date was? This is the exact reason why i love him.

I followed the rest of the petals and found Carter in the exact place he said he would be. Right under the boardwalk by the gazebo. "Wow. I was right. You do look beautiful" he said kissing my cheek. I blushed "thanks" i said. He handed me a rose. "For you" he said. I took the rose and held it close. "Thank you" i said. He looked kinda nervous. I wonder why? I looked away and over to the ocean. "Beautiful huh?" He asked walking up next to me. I nodded and just looked at him. "You didnt have to do all of this" i said honestly. "I know" he blurted. "But i did."

We stared at the ocean for a while. I was taken away from the view when Carter grabbed my hand and got on one knee. Wait. What's happening?

"Layla, the first time i had ever laid eyes on you, i knew it was love. I have never felt like this with anybody either and i hope you feel the same way. I love you to the moon and back and nothing will ever change that. I hope that over the years we can grow and become a family together" he reached in his back pocket and pulled out a box. "But for now, i want you to take this promise ring. A promise that we'll stay together. Grow together, have children together, become a family. Layla, i want to be with you for the rest of my life."

He slipped the promise ring on my finger and by now i was crying. He stoop up and i immediately hugged him. "Thank you Carter. I love you so much. I do want to spend the rest of my life with you. I really do" i said crying into his shoulder. He calmed me down, and for the rest of the night we just watched the waves as they hit the shore. It was really romantic and sweet. I'm glad that i'm going to be spending the rest of my life with Carter. I really was.
