Right after New Years the trial started. While I sat on one side with my parents, Braydon, Hunter and Trish, Raven and Robbie had to sit on the other side with their parents. I watched as they brought Devin and Randy in. I just stared. They brought in the Jury and once the Judge walked in we were asked to rise until the Judge told us to be seated.
It started with opening statements, first by the prosecutor, then the defense attorney. Then witnesses were called. I watched as the defense ripped apart each witness as well as the prosecutor. This didn't make me feel any better.
Just watching them was hard. Then I was called. I walked up and the court officer swore me in. This was when the fun began.
"Miss King, can you please tell us what happened the night of the party."
"I arrived at Cherisse's house with Braydon and Robbie. They were arguing then I decided to get something to drink nonalcoholic. Cherisse handed me a cup of punch. I smelt it and then took a drink. It tasted funny, but she said it was only because I wasn't used to that type of punch."
"Then what happened?"
"I decided to look for the guys, but everything became blurry and the room started spinning. The next thing I knew was someone offered to help me. They helped me to a room and laid me on the bed."
"And what else?"
"I felt a weight on me, then pain. I didn't know what was happening until he whispered, "I'm going to enjoy popping your cherry virgin. God you're so tight." After that he got off of me then returned until he got off again and someone else took his place."
"Was anything else said?"
"Yes," I answered.
"And?"
"You're right, she is tight. After that, I blacked out."
"What happened after that?"
"I woke up and saw blood. A lot of blood and felt a lot of pain. I quickly gather my underwear and left."
"Thank you. No further questions."
I sat there as the prosecutor sat down and defense got up.
"Miss King, I'm sorry for what you went through."
"Thank you."
"Now, you say my clients were the ones who raped you?"
"Yes," I answered.
"Did you see their faces?"
"No," I replied.
"Then how did you know it was them?"
"Because they tried to do it again at school."
"I see. So, why did you go to the party?"
"Because I was invited."
"Correction, Robbie Knight was invited. Didn't you go to another party my client was at?"
"Yes," I answered.
"What happened at that party?"
"They dumped punch over my head."
"So, why did you go to another party that they obviously didn't want you at?"
Before I could answer, she said, "No further questions."
Well, there goes my case. I felt like it was all my fault. I stepped down and they called Randy next. Of course, everything they threw at him, he denied. Then it was the prosecutor's turn.
