-Mon El's POV-

As we walked up to the car, Kara opened the back door to find the seats empty.

"Where are the car seats?" she asks, surprised.
"They are still in their boxes. I was going to get them out earlier but I was just excited to meet Isaac. It will not take me long" I tell her as I drag the first one out of the boot which ended up being Isaac's which was convenient. It means we can put him in his while I build Brynlee's.
I open the huge cardboard box to find the car seat already built, all I needed to do was put in the cushioned lining and attach the straps which took all of 3 minutes. I placed him down gently in his car seat and strapped it in the car behind my seat.

It took a bit longer to assemble Brynlee's but that is because I couldn't figure out how to attach the back to the seat but after rereading the instructions a couple of times, I figured it out and we buckled her in too.
I jump on the drivers' side as I am the only one that can drive.
Kara is used to flying everywhere.
"So where are we going first?" I ask Kara as I switch on the ignition.
"Well we weren't expecting to get a baby so we need to pick up supplies for tonight and I need a few more things for Brynlee and then I can pick up the rest tomorrow when Alex and I go shopping for stuff" Kara says as I reverse out of the parking space and start to drive towards the same shopping center I was at earlier.

-Kara's POV-

It only took about 10 minutes to get to the shopping centre but I spent the whole ride watching the kids through the mirror above the windshield.
It didn't take Isaac long to fall asleep and Brynlee was looking out the window as we drove past building after building.
"We have arrived" Mon el announced, chuckling.
We got out of the car and as Mon el tried to figure out how to assemble to pram frame, I unclipped and lifted Brynlee out of her car seat.
In the end, Mon-el couldn't build the frame because we needed a screwdriver so he just carried the car seat with Isaac in it by the handle attached.
We walked into the store and it was huge. Luckily I had made a list in my head of everything we would need for our first night.
We picked up 4 new jumpsuits for Isaac because his was getting a bit worn and grubby. We grabbed a set of blue and green bibs, a couple of bottles and some formula. There were shelves and shelves of different formulas and I didn't know where to start but to my delight, we had a lovely shop assistant help us pick out which one we needed. Next, we grabbed a cute fluffy blanket for him and a travel cot that will do for tonight because Alex and I are going to pick out his crib tomorrow. We grabbed 2 bags of diapers but I already had wipes at home because I knew that I would need them no matter the child's age. We grabbed a teddy bear holding a blue heart and a couple of toys and some tinned baby food but then we were finished.
We only needed 2 outfits for Brynlee because she only had the outfit she was wearing so we needed some pyjamas and another outfit to change into tomorrow morning. After roaming the shelves I grabbed a couple of pants and socks, a set of pink fluffy pyjamas with white hearts, a plain white t-shirt, black leggings, a dark blue polka dot jumper and some dark blue high top trainers with silver stars.
She fell in love with her new trainers the moment she set eyes in them so she insisted that she wore them the minute we got back into the car.

It might have only been a couple hours but I feel like I have known them for years, loved them for years. I never thought I could love someone the way that I do towards them.

Mon-el places Isaac's car seat back in the car and buckles Brynlee in her own while I pull the tags off Isaac's blanket and a teddy bear. I rested the bear next to him and I wrap the blanket around his small body, to keep him warm and cosy.
