Before You, We had No One

Along The Wire

-Mon El's POV-

"Right Bryn, you need to hold on tight okay, you can't let go" I explain as I lift Bryn onto the zip slide.
"Okay," she smiles as she holds onto the black, rubber coated pole that attaches the seat to the wire above our head.
Once she is holding on tight, I pull the swing up in the air.
"Ready, steady go!" I yell as I let go to the swing.
As the swing slides down the wire towards the end, I jump off the wooden platform and I run as fast as I can alongside the swing as I try to keep up.
The swing hits the rubber block at the end of the wire causing it to swing upwards in the air before moving the opposite way.
I jog alongside the swing until it stops 2 meters from the raised wooden platform from where it started.
I lift Bryn off the swing as I drag the swing along the wire and up onto the platform.
"Was that fun?" Alex asks as she takes Bryn from my arms.
"Yes!" Bryn giggles happily.
"Who's next?" I ask as I hold onto the swing tightly so that it doesn't start again.
"Come on, someone must want to have a turn. It is so fun" I smile as I try to persuade the others to have a turn.
"Fine" Alex gives in as she swaps me the swing for Bryn.
I move to the side as Alex moves the swing as far back as it can go before running forward and jumping on just before it reaches the end of the platform.
It sails along the wire at a speed that was a lot faster then Bryn was travelling and when it hit the rubber end, it swings higher before riding towards us.
As it starts to slow down, Alex jumps off and runs back with the swing and steps up onto the platform.
"You're right, that is so fun" Alex smiles happily.
"Told you" I gloat happily.
"Who is next?" Alex asks.
"I think Mommy should have a turn, don't you Bryn?" I ask her as I look towards Kara who is shaking her head.
Bryn nods in agreement as she looks at Kara with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, I give up. I will try it but only this once" Kara smiles as she takes the swing off Alex.
Kara copies the movements Alex used to jump on and she also speedily sails down the wire and back.
"That is fun" Kara smiles as I take the swing from her.
"It's half past 10 so I think we should head into the centre and get the shopping we need" Eliza explains from behind the fence.
"Sure," Alex and Kara say in unison as I let go of the swing and altogether we jump off the platform and up the muddy bank towards Eliza.
