When I arrived at the DEO, I couldn't find anyone. The place was cleared out. I waited on one of the computer chairs with Bryn asleep on my shoulder and Isaac asleep in his baby carrier. Finally just as i was beginning to lose hope, Alex walked out down the stairs from the meeting room and towards where I was.

"Alex, what's going on?" I ask as I stand up suddenly. "We think we tracked Kara but she isn't in this country so I had to send out almost everyone to try and find her" Alex explains as she sits on a computer chair in front of my and gestures for me to take a seat. "Where? Where is she?" I ask worriedly. "England... Manchester to be exact" Alex explains as she takes Bryn from my arms and rocks her in her own. My hearts starts to race at the thought of Kara being in trouble and needing my help but being too far away for me to do anything. "Can I go help them?" I ask Alex as I brush my hand through my hair in frustration. I hate feeling useless. Definitely when it includes Kara being in danger. "I'm sorry Mon el but Kara told me not to let you help if everything goes south" Alex replies as she rests her head on Bryn's. "But she didn't know it was going to go this wrong. She thought that Barry and Oliver were going to be there too to help her out, but their not. Alex please let me go help" I beg. "Mon el, you have your family to think of now" Alex sighs. "If Kara is in danger, Bryn and Isaac need you to be here with them. I am not saying they will because my team are very good at their jobs, but... If something happens to Kara, Isaac and Bryn need you here with them. They don't need to lose both parents". I understand where Alex is coming from and I know she is right but it still doesn't feel right, leaving Kara's fate and their families fate in the DEO's hands. "You better get used to it. This isn't going to be the first time that Kara or yourself get capture or injured and need our help" Alex chuckles as she rocks the chair side to side slowly as to keep Bryn asleep in her embrace. " Why didn't you get a sitter?" Alex asks after a long silence. "Bryn has the stomach flu and Isaac is teething so neither would have been very happy if I had left them with someone else" I explain to Alex just as Isaac wakes up from his nap. I quickly unbuckle him from his carrier and hold him against my chest, rocking gently from side to side so that he didn't cry and wake up Bryn.

Alex stays with me and the kids downstairs for a while before she is called upstairs for a briefing with the president. Bryn is awake but happily colouring in some of the many colouring books that I had thrown into the diaper bag before we left. I had given her some medicine once she had woken up and it seems to have worked because she hasn't complained about any stomach pains in a while. I am pacing the hall with Isaac awake but quiet in my arms. His pacifier was still helping control the pain in his gums which is great since I haven't had the time or the mental capacity to go down to the store and grab some teething gel.

As time continues to drag on, I can't help but think the worst. Maybe Kara is dead? Maybe Kara is so badly injured that transported her back home would be risking her safety. I can't help but wonder what is going on up in the meeting room that is taking Alex so long. She has been in there for an hour. I thought the meeting was supposed to be brief.

After seconds feeling like minutes and minutes feeling like hours as they ticked away on the clock ahead of me, Alex finally ran down the stairs towards me. "They found her!" she yelled. I couldn't help but release the breath that I didn't know I was holding in. "They are transporting her home now" Alex says with a pant as she runs down the last few steps and jogs towards me. "How is she?" I ask. "Is she hurt?". "I'm not sure, they didn't say but that's a good thing I think. If they didn't say anything then it means they don't need Doctors on standby here" Alex tries to convince herself more than me. "Mon el why don't you take the kids home. Kara is going to be okay but the kids have been here all day" Alex tries to convince me and it's true, we arrived this morning and now it was dark outside, but there was something holding me back. I still wasn't convinced everything was okay and I wouldn't be until Kara was safely in my arms. "It will take roughly another 9 hours before Kara finally lands back in National City" Alex explains as she kneels next to Bryn and watches as she colours in her next Peppa pig picture. "Fine, I will take them home for a couple of hours but then I an getting a sitter and I am coming right back" I explain to Alex as I start to throw all of their toys back into the diaper bag. I rush around as I try to grab everything. I buckle Isaac into his carrier and Alex takes Bryn's hand and walks to the car with me. She gets Bryn strapped in as I click in Isaac's carrier. "Keep me informed if any news comes in" I demand as I jump into the driver's seat. "Of course" Alex smiles lightly as she closes the door behind me and waves goodbye as I drive towards the loft.
