Welcome To Your New Home

-Mon El's POV-

As I drive home, Kara falls asleep which doesn't surprise me because today has been a long day. Isaac hasn't woken up yet and Brynlee is trying to fight to stay awake but I can see that she is on the edge and only seconds away from falling asleep. .
"Brynlee, you can fall asleep too. I will make sure your safe and when we arrive I will wake you up so that you can see your new home" I tell her quietly so that I don't wake up the others.
"romise?' she asks sweetly.
" I promise," I say with a smile as her eyes shut almost instantly. .

Apparently, their Mom was an alcoholic and died when Isaac was 2 weeks old. She was walking home after getting utterly drunk down at the pub and  was jumped on by a group of mobsters in that area.
They were left with their father until he was arrested for murder when he killed his best friend Michael Sora because he wanted their company to expand and Michael did not. I get that friends and definitely Co-workers fall out sometimes but I would never kill Winn because he has another opinion.
It's very extreme.
I feel sorry for both of them but especially Brynlee because she would have just turned 1, meaning that she might have memories of her Dad being taken away in handcuffs for the rest of her life..

The traffic was bad today and the constant flow of cars slowed us down by 10 minutes but we made it back to the apartment in 30 minutes.
Kara was still fast asleep in the passenger seat so gently I shook her shoulders which woke her instantly.
She unbuckled Isaac from his car seat carefully as not to wake him  I woke up Brynlee slowly and quietly so that I didn't startle her.
I picked her up in one arm as she woke up slowly and pulled some of the small bags from the boot and carried them in my spare hand up to our apartment.

Brynlee started to become visibly excited as Kara unlocked the front door. .
Kara opened the door and switched on the lights as we walked through the door. Brynlee started to become restless so I put her down on the floor and she willingly walk around, observing everything in sight.  
I placed the bags on the island before taking Brynlee’s hand and I showed her every room, one by one.
Kara's apartment is the perfect place for us because the living room and kitchen are an open room plan, we can supervise the kids as they play while cleaning or cooking in the kitchen. It will make it all just a little easier. .
One by one we went through ever room until we ended up in her bedroom. Her bedroom can be accessed from Kara and I’s room so it makes her easy to get to when needed.
Right now it has white walls with a plain wooden bed in the middle with white sheets but tomorrow we are going to give it a total makeover.
Kara picked up a book with paint shades in it the other day on her way past but we didn't know what gender our child would be and because the is would be their room, they should be able to choose the colours.
Winn is coming over tomorrow to help me paint her room while Kara is out with Alex.
"This is your room Brynlee. How do you like it?" I ask her.
In reply, she squeals happily as she throws her arms in the air.
  She starts to do a little happy dance and I can't help but laugh along as she giggles happily.
Once she has finished her dance, I lift her back into my arms.
“I'm glad you like it” I smile as she buries her head in my shoulder.
“We love you”.
