An Uncle's Duty

"Mon el!" Kara yells from the bathroom.
"Coming!" I yell back as I run out of the kitchen and into the bathroom.
"What is it?" I ask as I stand in the door frame.
"Alex and Lena have asked if I can go out for lunch so can I leave the kids with you and Winn? Please!" she begs as she sits on the bathroom floor next to the bathtub with Isaac on her lap, the bath water still running.
"Sure, we can handle the kids" I smile as I lean down and place a sweet kiss on her lips.
"Thank you" she smiles.
"Pass me Isaac and I will bath them once you have left because you still need a shower and to get dressed" I suggest.
She passes Isaac up to me before standing up onto her feet and turning off the bath taps.
"I will leave the bath to sit because I will not take long and it's too hot right now anyway" she smiles before ushering me out of the bathroom.

I walk into the living room and kitchen to find Winn on the couch watching the news with a coffee in his hand.
"Please, make yourself at home" I joke as I sit down next to him with both the kids on my lap.
"Thanks" he smiles.
"We have the kids today" I whisper into his ear, making him jump out of his skin.
"Okay, but you didn't need to scare me to tell me" he laughs but then his face changes.
"Wait what! No, you have the kids, I am a free man" he smiles evilly.
"Hey, just because they are my kids doesn't mean they aren't your responsibility too. You are their uncle so you have to do uncle duties" I reply with an evil smile.
"And they include?" he asks worryingly as he turns to face me, with his back to the TV.
"Well let's start with Isaac's diaper. Chop chop" I laugh as I hand Isaac over to him and I give him a slight nudge.
He stands up with a face of disgust as he walks into my bedroom.
"See Bryn, that's how you get out of things you don't want to do. You get Uncle Winn to do it for you" I tell Bryn with a smile before placing a kiss on her head.
"Daddy?" she asks.
"Yes Baby" I answer as I look away from the TV and down towards her.
"Paw Patrol please," she asks as she points to the TV.
"Okay, paw patrol it is" I smile as I pick up the remote and change the channel until I get one that is showing paw patrol.
The minute Paw Patrol comes on, Bryn's face goes from happy to concentrating. She bites her bottom lip and her eyes become glued to the screen.
I smile happily as I lean back further into the couch, pulling Bryn towards my chest and wrapping my arms around her small figure.

"Come on Mon-el, that wasn't cool. I almost died in there" Winn moans as he walks back into the room.
He has Isaac in one arm and his dirty diaper in the other, stretched out in front of him so that he can't smell it.
"Kara and I have to change his nappy 3 to 4 times a day so you got it easy my friend" I chuckle from the couch as he throws the diaper in the bin.
"Well Mon-el, you and Kara signed up for this when you signed on the dotted line," he says with his face still covered in disgust as he sits next to me on the couch.
