Before You, We had No One

"Come On, We're Cute!"

"Come on we have 30 seconds left and I want a turn before our time ends!" Kara yells as Alex takes her turn of bowling.
"Kara, I am not rushing just so you can have a shot, I am going to take my time so that I get a good score" Alex laughs as she gets into the right stance.
"You have 20 seconds to bowl the ball otherwise you will get nothing" Kara laughs as we all watch the timer go down on the board as we sit on the couches.
Alex quickly lets the ball roll down the Alley as we all watch the timer continue to countdown.

Alex grabs another ball quickly and waits for the pins to come back.

As the pins finally take their places at the end of the Alley once again, Alex quickly throws the ball once again.

The ball hits 3 pins, leaving 1 pin left standing alone.
The scoreboard updates adding 9 points to Alex's score.

The pins get lifted up and off the Alley and don't come back down.
"Who won?" Eliza asks as we all continue to look up at the screens above our head.
"I got 91 and Bryn got 57," I say as the others continue to look for their names.
"Yes! I got 112!" Alex yells happily.
"Haha, I got 124!" Kara laughs as she starts to pull her shoes off.
"How did you win?" Alex asks, annoyed.
"I don't know, maybe because I'm better" Kara smiles happily.
"Neither of you won" Eliza states as she too starts to pull her shoes off.
"How?" Alex and Kara ask in unison.
"I got 128" she smiles.
"What!" Kara and Alex yell surprised.
I sit Bryn on my lap as I start to pull her bowling shoes off and I strap her pink trainers back on to her feet.

As we walk past the shops, Bryn pulls on my trousers so I squat down next to her.
"What is it?" I ask as I hold her tiny hands in mine.
Bryn points at the toy shop and looks up at me with the cutest eyes I have ever seen.
"You want to go in there?" I ask.
She nods her head in reply.
"Let's ask Mommy," I say excitedly as pick her up and I run to catch up with the others who hadn't notice us stop.
"Kara!?" I ask as I get closer.
They all turn to face us as I catch up and I stand in front of them.
"Bryn has asked if we can go in the toy shop," I say with a smile.
"Can we please go?" I ask.
"Mon el she already has a new lion teddy" Kara states.
"I know but it is the last night we are here and we have been good?" I ask as I try to give her puppy dog eyes.
"We?" Kara asks with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I have done everything you have asked" I smile.
"Shouldn't you do that anyway Mon el?" Alex asks with a laugh.
"Shhh" I smile at Alex before looking back at Kara.
"I can walk Isaac back to the house and start of dinner if you want while you go shopping" Eliza suggests.
"Umm..." Kara says as she tries to make her decision.
"Come on Kara, please" I beg, causing Bryn to giggle at how funny I look.
"Fine" Kara gives in with a smile.
"We will go get some new toys".
"I will go home with Mom and Isaac and leave you to get your new toys" Alex smiles as she takes the baby bag from Kara's shoulder.
"Wait first... Mom don't make dinner, I will make dinner when we get back. You have made dinner all week so I will cook tonight" Kara says quickly.
"Okay sure" Eliza smiles before turning the corner with the pram so they are out of sight.
"Toys!" I yell excitedly as I run towards the toy shop as Bryn laughs loudly as she jumps up and down in my arms.
I put Bryn down on the floor and I hold her hand as we start to explore what is on the shelves.

-Kara's POV-

"Kara come over here and look!" Mon-el yells from the other end of the small store.
"Coming!" I yell back as I walk towards the weapons section.
He better not want me to buy Bryn a nerf gun because I will not give in to that. She is not having a gun.
"Look!" Mon-el exclaims happily.
He is holding a fake wooden bow and arrow and Bryn is standing next to him with an identical mini bow and arrow.
"Seriously?" I ask.
"Yes, we look so cute," he says happily as he squats down next to Bryn who is grinning from one ear to the other.
"Why do you want a bow and arrow? They are fake so they will not shoot very well" I tell them both as I try to compress my laughter.
"Kara just imagine this... Bryn and I in identical green clothing with our bow and arrows. We will look cuter then Oliver in his. Please... You can rub it in his face the next time we see him and it means you have 2 superheroes in the house" he begs.
"Fine you can get them, but we are going to get her an actual toy as well because those are staying in our suitcases while we are in the airport and she needs something to do in the plane" I say with a smile as Mon el jumps up on to his feet and picks Bryn up in his arms.
"Thank you" he smiles as he places a quick kiss on my lips.
"Can we get one more tiny one for Isaac when he is old enough?" Mon-el asks with a mischievous smile.
"No, you have those 2. No more bow and arrows" I say with a serious face before turning away so I wouldn't crack.
"Toys?" Bryn asks as she points to the rest of the store.
"Let's go find some more toys" Mon el smiles as they walk off towards the cars.
"Mon-el, the girls’ toys are that way," I say as I point to the back of the store.
"Right I knew that" he smiles as he turns around and walks towards the shelves of pink, fluffy teddies and barbies.
