Before You, We had No One

Not Much Help

-Kara's POV-

"Do we need some ice cream?" Mon-el asks as he picks up a tub of strawberry ice cream.
"No Mon-el. We are only grabbing food that we can eat for lunch while we are in the car" I explain for the 5th time since we entered the park shop.
I push the pram past the ice cream fridges and frozen food towards the ready-made food.
"What about milk?" he asks as he picks up a 4-pint bottle of blue milk.
"No Mon el we don't need milk" I huff.
I grab a multipack of Quavers and a multipack of Walkers crisps and I place them in the basket balanced on the hood of Isaac's pram.
"Right we need sandwiches so can you choose a sandwich each please?" I ask Bryn and Mon-el before squatting down next to Bryn as I read out her choices.
Mon-el grabs a ham sandwich and places it in the basket and I grab a tuna and cucumber sandwich for myself and a jam sandwich for Bryn.
I also grab a cheese sandwich for Isaac, I just hope he will eat it.
I guide the pram towards the drinks and I grab 2 bottles of water and an apple and blackberry fruit shoot for Bryn.
"Do we need some carrots?" Mon-el asks.
"No Mon el" I moan. "We don't need carrots for lunch".
"What about cereals?" he asks with a mischievous grin spread across his face.
"No, we don't need cereals either" I snap as I grab a packet of apples and a packet of bananas.
"What about..." Mon-el starts but I cut him off before he can finish the sentence.
"No Mon-el, whatever you are going to ask for isn't going to be of any use so can you please stop talking so we can get what we need and get out of here" I snap.
"I was going to ask if we needed any sausage rolls?" He asks with a smile.
"No, we... Actually yes we do" I say with an annoyed tone.
"See I did come up with something useful" Mon el chuckles as I grab the readily cooked sausage rolls and place them in the basket with everything else.

"Jeez, how long does it take to grab some food for lunch!" Alex moans as we walk out of the store.
"Sorry, but I didn't have much help" I chuckle as I sit on the bench next to Eliza.
"Come on it was funny" Mon el smiles as he hands Bryn over to Alex.
"No it was annoying" I moan.
"No it wasn't, you were laughing on the inside. I know you were" Mon el smiles.
"What are you guys talking about?" Alex asks.
"Mon el thought it would be funny to pick up random items and asks if we need them instead of helping choose what he wants for lunch" I state as I give him a fake glare.
"That is kinda funny Kara" Alex laughs.
"No it isn't but anyway, we should be heading out" I reply as I stand up off the bench.
"Yes we should, it is 10:45 so if we head off now, we should definitely be out of here by 11. If we drive with half an hour for toilet stops and to stretch our legs we should be at London Airport by 5. That gives us some time to pick up dinner and then head in at 5:30" Eliza explains as we start our slow stroll towards the car park.
