-Mon El's POV-

"Fireworks!" Kara yells as we walk through the shopping centre.
As we leave the centre, there are crowds of people gathered at the waterside as music blares from speakers that are situated behind us.
We weave through people until we finally find a space right next to the water.
"Daddy, what are fine works?" Bryn asks.
"Princess they are fireworks, they are like lights in the sky. You will see in 5 minutes when they start okay?" I ask as I crouch down next to her.
"Okay," she smiles.

We wait 5 minutes and Bryn becomes more agitated every minute that passes.
Finally, a man on the loudspeaker announces the fireworks.
I hear a bang from the other side of the lake as they set off a rocket.
Bryn screams out of fright as she holds onto Alex's legs tightly.
She calms down once the fountains come on because they are silent but then the rockets start going off again and Bryn starts to panic.
"Daddy!" She screams in panic as I kneel down and pull her into my arms.
"It's okay, Daddy's here okay. It's all okay" I whisper into her ear as I stand back up on my feet with her in my arms.
She digs her head into my shoulder so she is facing away from the fireworks but at every bang, she still jumps and cries.
"Do you want to go inside?" I ask her and she nods her head in reply.
"Kara?" I ask as I place my free arm around her waist.
"Yeah what's up?" she asks.
"I'm taking Bryn inside the centre for a bit because she is terrified of the fireworks" I explain just as a whole lot of rockets are set off at once creating a huge bang.
Bryn starts to scream and thrash so I walk as fast as I can into the centre, weaving through people in the dark.
When I walk into the centre, it is almost empty because everyone is gathered outside except for a few other parents with kids that aren't enjoying it either.
"Shhh it's okay, it's all okay," I say soothingly as I bounce Bryn in my arms.
She calms down slightly but she doesn't stop crying.
"How about we go to see the Reindeer?" I ask as I walk along the bridge towards the reindeer and his tree at the other entrance.
Once we get there, I press the reindeer's red activation button and at the sound of his voice Bryn's cries stop almost instantly and she starts laughing.
I place her on her feet and she holds onto the fence tightly as she watches him with great pleasure.

The fireworks don't last much longer and as soon as they do stop, I carry Bryn back outside so that we could meet Kara and the others before heading back home.
