When we got back home, I went to Evan's room right away. I put on my earphones but Pam walked in and sat next to me. She wanted to talk to me. I pulled the earphones down.
"I'm sorry about my boys," she started.
"You don't have to apologize for them, Pam," I said.
"I know, but I should."
"They are adults," I said. "I think."
She giggled.
"Yeah. They are a handful, but they are really nice guys. I don't want you to shut down the opportunities here because of them."
"I won't," I said.
"You won't?" she looked surprised but smiled.
"I saw a few recording studios today and I think I liked to give it a go," I said. Tessa and Tristan had me thinking. Ohio has nothing for me. LA does. If I leave just because I don't like them, then they win. I wasn't ready to lose.
"I have a long day," Pam said. "I think I'm going to go to take a nap. So, don't mind me. Go out for the evening. Go see more of LA. It's interesting but be careful as well. Logan freaked out this morning when I told him you were out alone."
"He freaked?"
"Yeah. I think he cares," she smiled.
"Nah, he just doesn't want me messing with his city," I said.
"Either way, I think you guys will be best friends," she said.
I laughed at her ambition but gave her a comforting smile anyways.
"Go to the grove. It's nice out and there's frozen yogurt too. I know you can take care of yourself. From what I've seen, you have guts," she smiled. "But call a friend. Tessa and Tristan might be down. Even Tony."
"Okay," I said.
I was on my emails when I realized it was already the early evening. Pam has already fallen to sleep. I decided to slip into a hoodie and some sneakers to go out. I was going to text Anthony but I crave some alone time with my mind. I don't know what I was going to do here in LA or where to start. Before I leave, I tucked Pam in and turned her phone on silent. As I walked out, Logan was on his phone. Lydia and Brandon were both on their laptops. Logan didn't see me walk out so I decided to leave without saying anything. I shut the door silently and head to the grove, wherever that was.
