LOGAN POV

Her words stabbed my heart like a fucking burning knife. Damn, Logan, you messed up. I watched her shadow slowly disappeared

"Lo!" Jake called out.

"Bro, you're just going to let her go?" Tony pushed my shoulder and tried to run after her but I stopped him.

"You're messed up," Tony pushed my hands off him. "If you can't love her, then don't play around with her feelings."

"You have a girlfriend, Tony," I pointed out.

"Thea is my friend. She knows that," Tony said. "my girlfriend and I are good. She trusts me because she knows I'm not a dick."

"Tony, enough," Jake warned.

"I need to make this right," I said.

"Unless you can grow some balls, I say don't bother," Tony snapped.

I rolled my eyes.

"Stay out of this," I ordered.

I pulled out my phone and called my contacts.

The next day, I was back at her house. Jake got her a day off at the bar. Her mom wasn't there when I arrived which was a relief. I do not have half the mind to deal with her. The door was unlocked. I made a mental note to give Thea a piece of mind for not locking it. People could just walk in, like me.

Thea was in her room when I found her.

"What the hell!" she nearly shouted when she saw me. She was playing with her keyboard on the floor. I felt a punch in the stomach seeing the place she grew up in.

"I want to ask you out on a date," I said.

"You can't be serious," she gave me the best poker face.

"I'm dead ass serious," I said. "I'll come back to get you at 4:30."

"What makes you think I would say yes?"

"Because you will love ice skating. We used to go," I said.

We did when we were young. Jake was making fun of her when she shouldn't finish one round but I held her hand and led her through the rest of the route.

"No," she said. "You can't just break into my house."

"I didn't break in. It was unlocked."

"You still shouldn't come in if you were not invited."

"Thea, come on. It's the holidays."

"No," she crossed her arms. I looked into her eyes and saw that she has been crying but not too much because she was tough and she doesn't let a chock like me ruin her.

"Why not?"

"You either have a stroke so you can't remember what happened or a superego."

"We are going ice skating. I'm not breaking the ice around your heart," I grinned. "It won't hurt."

She rolled her eyes but her silent was her answer.

"4:30!" I said before leaving. "and lock the damn door!"

At 4:30 sharp, I arrived at her place and waited outside this time like a gentleman I was. She walked out with blue skinny jeans and a grey hoodie with another jacket layered over her small body.

She didn't get in the car immediately. Instead she crossed her arms and stood at the sidewalk.

I can't help but laughed and got out the car, opening the door for her.

"This is not a date," she said.

"It's not," I replied.

"Why am I even doing this?" she was second guessing herself. Before she turns around and head back to her house, I caveman her again and put her in the passenger seat.

"Logan!" she scolded. I slipped into the driver seat and start the engine. "you know there're better ways to sweep a girl off her feet."

"But I like my way," I winked.

Once we got to the skating range, it was empty.

"No one is here," she said. "it's close. Well, let's go home."

"Not so fast, angel. I bought the place for the night so it's ours," I said.

"But-" she was lost in words.

I grabbed her hand and led us to the two pair of skates that I planned with a bouquet of flowers.

"Flowers for the lady," I gave it to her.

She took the flowers, looked at me and I swear I see hearts but then she threw the flowers to the snow.

"Hey," I wanted to laugh but I was also hurt.

"No bullshit. What do you want Logan?"

"Another chance," I said.

"At what?" she broke our glance.

"You," I too her hand. "Come on," I led her to a chair and helped her put on her shoes. This was like a movie I would produce.

On the ice, she was better than me. I looked like a penguin walking on wet floor. She looked like an angel gliding though the ice.

"You were horrible at this," I defended, holding onto the ribs.

"I worked here a couple years ago," she said. She was skating in circles. Her mind seems to drift off as she stared at the woods around us.

"You are good at it," I said.

"Come on," she held my hand this time and led me though the route. I got my balance back and was getting a hang of it but I didn't tell her. I liked how small her hands were in mine. They fit perfectly.

"Your hands are cold," I said.

"Sorry," she blushed and pulled her hands away.

"What? Give me your hand," I took them back and form them into a ball in my hands. She was watching me. Her eyes locked mine and pierced through my heart. Damn, her blue eyes was going to be the death of me.

"Logan?" she broke the silent.

"Yeah?"

"My fingers," she said.

I looked down and they were white. I was holding them too tight.

"Oh shit," I said. She let out a short-lived giggle.

"Do you know tricks?" I asked.

"I work here, not the circus," she rolled her gorgeous blue eyes.

"Twist for me?" I gave her my million-dollar smile.

She took a look at me and sigh with a small smile that curved the corner of her face.

She took a turn and started doing dances on the ice. The ice was her stage. Her smile lit up the whole scene and her laugh sang through the frosty air. She was happy. So was I. At this second, we forgot where we come from and who we are. It was only an Ohio boy with an Ohio girl.
