THEA POV

I woke up to Logan beside me. A small panic melts into my racing heart. He looked so adorable that I didn't have the heart to pull away.

I remember what happened last night.

Technically, we are not blood related.

Technically, this could work.

Why is it that I desire love so much inside but when it's given, I paralyzed.

Whenever I think I've taken a step forward from my past, they pull me three steps back.

Yesterday night, I had a flash of memory for when my mom. Before Logan walked in, Judy came to talk to me.

"How are you?" she asked.

I hesitated but told her I was okay.

"Logan and I are seeing each other," she said.

I silent.

"He is kind and sweet to me and we like spending time together," she said.

"He told you to come up here and tell me this?" I asked, unimpressed.

Her eyes twitched a little.

"No, I just want you to know. You are only his step-sister, no?"

"How long have you known Logan?" I asked.

"A year," she said proudly like it was her life achievement.

"And in this one year, how much do you know him?" I asked.

"More than you," she raised her eyes.

"What is his favorite movie?" I asked.

"His own movie, duh," she said.

"No, Logan doesn't watch movie. Not a lot. He can't sit still for an hour, let alone two," I said. "Favorite color?"

"Black," she narrowed her eyes, challenging me.

"Blue," I corrected. "Favorite food."

"Pizza," she said.

"Pasta," I corrected again. "Logan doesn't eat pizza. Favorite thing to do?"

"Making video," she rolled her eyes.

"Exploring the wild," I said. "the less road tracks there are, the more he loves it."

"How would you know? You only been here a couple days. Plus, he changed."

"Fine," I said. "why does he love Maverick so much? That won't change."

"Cause it is his pet and his brand."

"Because maverick was Logan's friend when he had little. When people didn't believe in him, he came up with the name Maverick."

"Whatever," she rolled her eyes. "just stay away form him. Live with Jake or find your own place. This is not an orphanage," she snapped and walked out.

I should be boiling with anger but I wasn't. It was sad that she thinks she loves him when she doesn't take the time to understand who he is.

I snapped back to present when I heard Logan's phone vibrate. I got up and reached over his body, trying not to land on him or touch him, to shut the phone.

Suddenly, a strong pair of hand grabbed my waist.

"Waking up to a view, not bad," he chuckled.

I slapped his hands off me and sat back down next to him.

"Morning, sunshine," he said, sleepily.

"Morning," I said then popped it of bed and head into the bathroom. My heart was racing out of my chest and my cheeks were burning hot.

Denial was painful. Acceptance seems wrong. But loving him was easy.

**I don't hate Judy or anything against her. This is only part of the story plot line ;)**
