He was glad Yuki didn't wake up screaming anymore.

But he was still afraid to sleep.

The shadow would appear randomly, watching him.

He didn't know what to make of it.

And it's eyes were cold, but he felt drawn to them.

"Hiro?"

Hiro snapped out of his daze, head resting upon his brother's shoulders.

After that night, he kept getting headaches and couldn't get out of bed.

They sat in his bedroom, still in their pajamas.

"Do you want me to stop reading..?"

"No. I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention."

Kaname closed the book, leaning his head on Hiro's.

"Is it your head again?"

"No...just tired."

"Why don't you go to sleep?"

Hiro shook his head, clinging to his brother.

His dreams were horrible.

He was always alone in the house, which was crumbling and old.

The sky was dark, and the lights were broken.

The shadows had multiplied, and they wanted to drag him somewhere.

"I'll be here...I promise."

Hiro nodded, and closed his eyes.

Once again, he was in the empty house.

"...Kaname..?"

He silently crept through, not making any noise.

He made it to the front door, trying to open it. But it wouldn't budge.

He head footsteps, and quickly hid.

They got closer, and he closed his eyes, shaking.

The steps stopped in front of him, and a hand was placed atop his head.

"Are you afraid?"

He looked up, meeting his very same eyes.

"You again..."

Rido smirked, hearing the shadows growing closer.

"Are you scared of them, Hiro..?"

Hiro froze, eyebrows furrowed.

They came closer.

"If you are...they'll drag you to Hell."

Rido raised his hand, and the shadows shrieked out in pain, blue light bursting from inside them until they were no more.

Hiro watched, eyes wide.

"...how?" He asked.

"How did I get here? Or how did I do that?"

"...both, I suppose."

He poibted to his eyes, and Hiro remembered the key.

"I can visit you when you're in trouble... and find you"

"And the shadows?"

"You must destroy them."

Hiro followed him through the house, watching him closely.

"Do you understand?"

"...yes."

"Once they fear you...you can control them."

Rido raised his hand, a shadow appearing.

Hiro sucked in a shaky breath, clinging to his shirt.

But it into stood, awaiting intructions.

"Wow..."

It disappeared into mist before him, leaving nothing behind.

The house began to dissolve, Rido turning to leave.

"Will you...be back?"

"You'll see me very soon...I'll find you and protect you from the monsters under your bed. I promise."

Hiro watched as he left, before feeling himself being pulled away from the dream.

He woke up, staring at the ceiling.

Pushing himself up, he saw an arm on him.

He smiled, Kaname sleeping beside him.

He covered his older brother, petting his hair.

They hadn't told their parents about the nights before.

Hiro didn't know why Kaname made him promise, but if his parents would be as worried as Kaname, he'd feel bad.

But ever since then, he'd dream
of the strangest things.

He touched his eyes, closing them.

That man had the same eyes as him... And he could see the shadows, even control them.

He had been bothering Yuki!

But he wasn't so awful...

But Hiro was worried about more things.

His dreams began to leak into his world.

He didn't need his eyes to be closed to be in the empty house, or see something that wasn't there.

He had said nothing at first, thinking he was just shaken from his dreams.

But...

The things he saw were horrifying.

He remembered walking towards rhe library, wanting to finish a book.

He stood before the living room, eyes wide as he saw his parents lying across the floor, skeletons in pieces.

But that wasn't what made him freeze...

He saw himself standing above them, covered him blood and dust. He turned around, smiling at Hiro.

Both his eyes were glowing, filled with hunger and evil...

He knew something was wrong.

He avoided mirrors, the other him staring back with malcontent.

But it was as if he was the only one to see these things.

And that scared him most of all.

Kaname woke up, opening his wine red eyes.

He looked to Hiro, who still had his eyes closed.

"...did you sleep alright?" He asked.

Hiro jumped, looking to Kaname. He grew red, nodding.

"Y-yeah..."

"I'm glad." He pushed himself up, stretching. "C'mon, Yuki is probably bored of playing house with mother and father."

Hiro scoffed, smiling.

"She's never tired of playing house."

A mother, a father, and two loving siblings.

Even through the nightmares and fear, he was more than happy to have people he loved surround him.

...but he didn't notice the two different shades of eyes watching the house from the distance, destruction pouring from their soul.
