Zero watched as Ichiru stepped towards him, a smirk on his face.

They stood before one another, and while their faces were identical, Zero wore an angry expression, frustration laced within the downturn of his lips. Ichiru was the opposite, almost completely serene and amused by his older twin's obvious frown, unable to hide a cunning smile.

"Ichiru..." Zero said in a warning tone. "What exactly are you planning?"

Said twin couldn't help but roll his eyes in annoyance, his smile becoming a sneer. His walked closer to his twin, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Don't tell me you're still being manipulated by that monster."

Zero's frown only deepened. He moved his shoulder away, turning to fully face Ichiru.

"That sounds more like my line." He said bitterly.

Ichiru's smile ran away, and he couldn't help they way his face softened. He quickly frowned, his lavender eyes matching Zero's.

Of course it would still sting Zero, his own brother disappearing with his worst enemy. He doesn't regret it, and he never will.

But he wouldn't lie about the ache that lingered within his own heart, seeing his other half so torn.

He would never tell a single soul, though. His feelings would remain stifled away beneath his heart.

So he smirked and folded his arms with a careless shrug. "I'm only looking out for you." He said with a mockingly gentle tone.

But Zero's glare only hardened, his lavender eyes much darker than Ichiru's.

"Ichiru."

Ichiru sighed, gripping Zero's arm without any true force. "Don't you want to know the truth behind the sudden reappeared Kuran sibling?"

Zero grimaced, his previous questions ricocheting through his mind again.

How did Hiro suddenly appear from nowhere?

His smile echoed within his head, gentle and kind as if he weren't some strange mystery.

Kaname never mentioned a brother. Then again, knowing the secretive and cunning Pureblood, he probably never would.

Yuki never knew of his existence, neither did the headmaster.

It was if the world never knew who he was, and he had suddenly barged into their lives.

He didn't act like a Pureblood, nor did he seem to be as brooding or as pompous as the other Vampires he'd had the unfortunate fate of meeting.

"I'm unlucky..." He had once said, sadness filling his contrasting eyes.

Ichiru smirked.

Zero pulled his arm away, eyes narrowing at Ichiru. "And how do you know anything about it?"

"I have my ways." He smirked, thinking back to what Rido had explained, ordering him to keep a watchful eye over his nephew.

"You're not going to cite your source?" Zero asked.

Ichiru laughed. "Nope. I'm sure you're keeping plenty of secrets from me as well, brother. Like your love for that Pureblood."

Zero gave Ichiru a thoughtful look, but it changed back into his usual scowl.

"You can't even deny it. Are you interested in knowing?"

Zero paused, eyes looking to the distance.

He was there when Hiro explained his past to Shizuka, surprising and shocking Zero to the core.

He had tried to reason with Shizuka, even going as so far to put himself in danger to help Zero out with his own revenge. If Hiro wasn't strong enough to withstand the attacks, he would've been dead.
