Shizuka stared at him, her eyes wide like her smile.

"What will you do?"

Rido stood beside her, as if they were mocking his weakness. He would never be as strong as them, never have the power to go after what he truly desired.

"What will you do, Hiro?" Rido asked.

Her hands wrapped around him, her sweet scent filling his nose.

"Give in to the things you want." She whispered.

"It's your move."

"I can do all the hard work for you." Rido said, fingers running through his hair. "I will protect you. Just give me what I want."

Hiro looked at his trembling hands.

"You have to destroy everything if you want to be safe." Shizuka whispered in his left ear.

"You have to be powerful." Rido chuckled in his right.

He looked ahead, strangely finding comfort in the chaos that lied ahead.

He was sweating when he woke up.

He immediately sat up, looking around.

He didn't...recognize this place.

And the blankets weren't soft like his own. So where was he?

The door opened, and his mouth dropped open when he saw who it was.

"...Zero?"

"You look terrible."

Hiro glared at Zero, slumping over.

"You're wonderful with words." He said, frowning.

Zero was holding a cup of water and a small box. He didn't answer, only walking over to the bed and handing Hiro the water.

"Take these." His gruff voice said, opening the box of blood tablets. "You hungry?"

Hiro looked to the water, blinking twice as the tablets were poured into his hands. He nodded to the question, still confused.

He paused.

"...you're mad at me."

It wasn't a question.

Zero gave him a glare.

Hiro bit his lip, frowning slightly.

"You killed Shizuka." His words were heavy, laced with anger and resentment. "You took my kill." And you almost died because of me, went unsaid.

"...I seem to be making a lot of people mad nowadays." Hiro mumbled to himself.

He took the tablets, drinking the water down. He handed Zero the empty glass.

Zero turned to leave, Hiro following behind him.

"Where are we?"

"The chairman's." Zero answered coldly.

Hiro furrowed his eyebrows at the tone.

He went quiet after that.

Zero placed the glass in the sink, pulling a frying pan from a cabinet. Hiro watched him work, breaking eggs and putting them into the pot.
