"Hiro-sama..." The servant croaked out, before turning to dust.

Hiro grimaced at his sticky hands.

He turned around, seeing another servant. "Hiro-sama, if you do not return, Rido-sama will punish you."

He remembered how afraid he used to be of punishments.

How his body would freeze automatically, afraid to be locked away or starved or forced to...

Fear was the best teacher, his uncle would always say.

He swallowed, his hands tearing through their bodies like leaves in the wind. His cuts were clean and merciless.

The last of the servants fell to the ground.

Hiro stood in the clearing, looking around for more enemies.

"...Agh." He gripped his eye, pain swirling inside.

Groaning, he moved to the ground. His ice blue eyes began to glow, and he slowly looked at his hands.

His eye was so cold.

Hot tears flew from his eye, and he could hear something calling out to him.

Hiro slowly stood back up, looking up.

It was a strange voice, calling out his name. No one else's, but his.

So he made his way over. With a quiet sigh, he leapt into the sky. He landed in a tree branch, looking out at the forest.

He climbed higher and higher.

Until he made it to the very top.

He looked out, smiling at the fresh scent of the trees. He'd never smell something so good before, so natural. He had come to love it within the week.

He was used to dingy walls and bloody stones.

He looked up to the shining sky. He grimaced, ready to go back into the shade. He'd been sleeping in the trees, using them to shade him from the harsh sun.

...but it didn't hurt.

He lifted his hand up, waiting to possible burn away like Rido had said he would.

But he was still there.

The voice continued to call.

He looked around the trees, searching for the source.

He stopped when he saw a large building.

It was far away, only he roof and a bit of the building being shown. It was hidden in the forest, far to the end of it.

It was big, and there were bigger buildings behind it, with lots of grass and traditional architecture.

There was a gate surrounding all of it, and Hiro was sure that this wasn't even half of the place.

He'd make sure to stay away. Who knows who was there, Vampires, Hunters, even witches.

...did witches exist?

Hiro sat atop the trees, looking back to the voice.

"...who are you?!" He yelled.

The voice stopped calling.

Hiro frowned, listening as the forest went silent. He stopped when he heard a small chirp.

He looked down on a lower branch, hearing birds chatter amongst themselves.

There was a nest not to far from him, babies all waiting for their mothers to feed them.

Hiro slowly slid down, silently watching them from a higher branch.

He grimaced when she vomited into their mouths.

...but something inside of him ached.

He had a mother before, didn't he? A kind woman with hair just as curly as his.

But her face...it was shrouded in mystery.

But he remembered their being so much blood.

The name started calling for him once again.

"...Mother?" He asked, looking behind him.

But there was no one.
