Hiro tightened his tie, looking at himself in the mirror.
Azure and dark, crimson eyes darted between his reflection and the clock.
He didn't feel ready.
He turned around, looking at the almost empty room.
It was too big, filled with empty bookshelves and a bed. He had packed his new clothes in the drawers, courtesy of Kaname and his bank account which had too many zeros. Hiro had almost fainted when he saw it. He had offered to get him more things, but Hiro hastily declined.
It was supposed to be his room, but he didn't like it.
There was a window, a big ones with long curtains. The empty bookshelf sat in a corner, as well as a walk in closet and a a few hangers.
He never had a window.
He walked over to it, opening it wide.
The breeze felt nice. He could hear the trees, leaves being ruffled by the wind.
This was his own view.
There was a knock on his door.
"C-Come in."
The door opened, a bright eyed Takuma standing in the doorway.
"Hiro! You look great in your uniform." He smiled, walking over.
Hiro looked down at it. "It's a bit too..."
"White." Takuma finished. "I know."
Hiro hummed, sighing. "It's time, isn't it?"
Takuma nodded. "Kaname will introduce you to the rest of the Night Class."
Hiro frowned. "Will they all need my permission to do things?"
"Yes, it's normal Vampire custom. They will probably be insistent on becoming friends for the benefit of a higher social status. You are a popular person now." Takuma said nonchalantly, fixing Hiro's tie.
"I didn't know I had a social status..." Hiro slumped.
"Being a Pureblood is difficult, but not impossible. Kaname will help you, and me." Takuma smiled, patting his back.
Hiro nodded, thanking him with a smile.
"Our teacher is a Vampire Hunter, but-"
Hiro froze.
"-he's not boring like our other teachers." Takuma informed him.
Hiro tensed, frowning a bit. "...a hunter." He mumbled.
Takuma furrowed his eyebrows, remembering his past injures. A thought came to mind. "We like to call him The Pirate since he wears an eyepatch."
Hiro held back a snicker. "That's...not very nice." He said, trying not to laugh.
"It's not, but Aidou keeps saying it. Are you ready?" Takuma asked with a smile.
Hiro nodded, following him out the room.
The halls of their dorms were empty, everyone having gathered downstairs.
Hiro looked to Takuma, who smiled back confidently.
Takuma ruffled his hair as they turned a hall. "Purebloods carry a precise image, you have to keep that up."
Hiro sighed, covering his hair, trying to protect it. "I see."
They descended down the stairs.
Kaname stood in the middle of the staircase, the rest of the students staring up at him.
