"Bye mom!", shouted Clary Fairchild as she rushed towards the door. "Hold it. Just where do you think you are going?", asked an indignant Jocelyn Fairchild."I was just going to go train at the Institute with Simon!", replied Clary. "And to go and see Jace as well?", inquired Jocelyn. "No. Yes. Ok, maybe.", said Clary, blushing. "Honestly, Clary, you are so predictable!", laughed Jocelyn."Ugh, mom, I really should go...-", insisted Clary."Fine. Go ahead, Clary. Just be careful of the Pact Members. Though with Jace there, you have no problem, I'm sure." Clary took the bait "MOM! I'm old enough to look after myself. Gotta run though, bye.", and pulled the door shut."Bye, don't forget that the Reaping is soon!", reminded Jocelyn through the window."Got it!", and with that, Clary jogged away. Jocelyn looked out the window, made sure no one else was there, and shut it quickly.
