Jenny’s POV
It’s been a few days since the unexpected call from Harry and I have not received anything from him since then. I scratched my head as I drive into Conway on my way to Eleanor’s apartment where I’ve been invited to do a game night with Louis and Eleanor. I’m almost there, but the call from Harry still clouds my mind.
Maybe I’m letting it disturb me too much, but I can’t help but worried. I know I’m not interested in dating him again, but all the evidence I’ve seen from Harry is he is interested in dating, but is silently giving me space until he finds the right moment to pounce. I groan aloud at the thought and not even the music of my car can disturb my thoughts.
I pull into the parking lot and carry my board game up with me to the apartment. I approach the entrance and I breathe in slowly as I knock a couple times on the door. “Coming!!” I hear Louis shout happily. Louis opens the door and he smiles wide. “Jenny! I’m so glad you came! Please come in!”
I walk in to the modest apartment. There are a few furnishings and appliances in the small main room that is part kitchen part living space. There is a sitting area and also a small dining table by the windows facing outside. “You can put the game on the table,” Eleanor told me. I go over to the table and place the game on there. “What’d you decide to bring?”
“Monopoly,” I answered her.
“Monopoly! I love Monopoly! I played that as a kid back home!” Louis said excitedly walking up to me to see the board. “I hope you’re hungry, there’s a pizza on the way.”
“That sounds good, I might steal a slice,” I told him. I hadn’t eaten in a while, so the pizza will be nice.
“Great! So you wanted to talk about something?” Louis said with concern on his face. Eleanor came back with some cokes I guess to go with the pizza.
“Yeah,” I started nervously. I go sit down on the couch and soon enough, Louis and Eleanor sit down next to me with both of them staring at me. “Harry called the other night.”
I stop there to see what their faces were telling me and Louis’ face looked confused while Eleanor’s face turned worrisome. “What did he say?” Louis asked tenderly.
“Well, he was drunk and he basically told me he missed me in his drunk state, but by the end of our conversation, he sounded like he became sober and he just hung up on me,” I told him. Louis played with his beard with one of his hands while he was thinking.
“That seems slightly foolish of him to go drinking since he get kicked out of Van Buren for doing that, but it was in England so his chances of being caught are slim to none unlike me,” Louis mused, “What level of drunk do he think he was on? He sounds like he sobered up rather quickly after he said he missed you,”
“I’d give his level of drunk a seven. His speech was pretty slurred not to mention he was practically yelling there at the beginning. Honestly, I pictured him having the biggest smile on his face with one hand on the phone with me and the other holding a beer can,” I told me.
“Why was he drinking in the first place? Harry’s not usually the one to get drunk on a random night. That’s more of a Niall trait than a Harry thing,” Louis asked.
