Zayn’s POV
“Did I ever tell you how much I hate research papers? I’d much rather be writing creative stories than do this,” I moaned to Harry who is working on his laptop right beside me on Liam's desk. Harry and I don’t have practice today while Liam and Niall so we’re just working on homework together. I think Harry is working on some math homework for the easiest math class he could take and it frustrates him to no end.
“Did I ever tell you how much I hate college algebra?” Harry retorted, “It’s not even my major and I don’t even do any of this in real life!”
“Doesn’t Jenny know how to do that math stuff? She is a computer science major which requires lots of math, doesn’t it?” I asked back.
“You have a point,” Harry mused, “But getting help is not my cup of tea,”
“I’d do it if it was the difference between a horrible grade and a mediocre grade,” Harry simply thought about it and didn’t say anything. I continued working on formulating the next sentence for my International Relations paper until I hear my phone buzzing right next to my laptop. I pick it up and I smile because it’s Perrie. I stop what I’m doing and I answer her. “Hey, Perrie? How are you?”
“Hey, babe,” Perrie said happily. “I’m doing good. Just working on a paper that’s due at the end of the week,”
“Same here! International Relations! You?”
“Business paper, the absolute pits,” She answered back, “Zayn, we need to talk,” This can’t be good news. I stop my work so I can pay attention to what she has to say. “I’ve been talking with Eleanor for the past couple days and I have also been contacted by Cara and some of the girls you are in that club with and I think we should do a wedding here,”
My mouth dropped wide open. Another wedding? We were already having a hard time affording her dream wedding back in England, but another one? Here? Harry looks at me concerned, but I try to show I don’t him sweating over it. “How are going to afford that? It’s already hard enough to afford the one,”
At that comment, Harry perks up and stops everything. Great, now I’ll have to explain everything to him. “I know, Zayn, but if we do one here, all of our friends can see it before we go back to England. All my friends here in Conway, your friends there, it’d be different. Mum can ship my dress over here and we just do a super cheap one here. Just have cake at the reception, a small ceremony, and just have fun. Our real one can be over there, but here we can have a celebration with all our friends,”
“I get your point, love, but how much would we have to make it work?” I asked her.
“I know we have very little as it is, but I’d rather have a chance for all of our friends to see us get married than not do anything for them especially all the generosity we’ve been given here in the US,” Perrie said sympathetically.
“I understand, how many people do you think would come if we did this?” I asked her.
“I mean by the time most of your club shows up and then our entire core group and the dozen or so friends I have here that would come. It’d be a little over 90 people easily,” I gaped at the number.
