Niall’s POV

“You ready to go, Zayn?” I asked him when I walked into the room from my bathroom.  Zayn looked at himself one more time and then turned to me and nodded.  “All right, let’s go, mate,” I told him.  We walked out through his door to go to a Beaux Appreciation party that is being hosted by our club.  I’m excited about it mostly because it’s a good excuse to hang out with Cara and the beau liaison, Laura who I am obviously close to.

On the other hand, I see the look on Zayn’s face and I know he feels bittersweet about tonight.  Since Zayn is transferring to University of Bradford back in his hometown to live married life with Perrie, today was going to be one of his last events for the club.  All we had left was this, Spring Sing, and a formal then Zayn would officially no be a beau.

“This year has gone by so fast,” Zayn echoed what all of us were thinking at this point with only a week until Spring Sing started.  “It’s hard to believe that this will be one of my last events as a beau before I go back to England,”

“It has hard to imagine we only have five weeks until school gets out and only 4 weeks of classes left.  Spring Sing is going to be crazy.  I can’t believe we start putting the entire show on Monday,” I told him.

“I know!  Are the Cavaliers participating in Super Saturday like my club is?” Zayn asked me.  Super Saturday is basically the last time clubs can rehearse their shows alone on stage without the pressure of a dress rehearsal for the entire show or an actual show.

“I think so.  Though we’re only going for a few hours to be sure all the computer screens and sounds line up the way they’re supposed to,” I answered him.

“That sounds nice, we’re going to be practicing almost all day with a few hours with the producers of Spring Sing and then some more hours in the choir room,” He admitted.

“I’ll keep that in mind when we talk to the girls at the party,” I noted mentally and out loud to Zayn.  We got to the building where the party was located and walked inside to where we usually met with our sisters in the club.  We walked in the room and our jaws dropped.  The girls started clapping for us and they had two tables with loads of food on them:  one for Zayn, one for me.

Laura emerged from the crowd and both of us gave her a hug.  “Hey, Niall,” She greeted me. “Hey, Zayn!  How are y’all?  I can’t believe we’ve had both for only one semester it seems like it’s been longer! “

“A lot can happen in a year and I was here two semesters technically,” Zayn pointed out.

“Well, you know what I mean,” Laura giggled, “I know!  When I got voted to be the beau liaison for this year, I was really worried that I was going to do such a bad job, but then you two showed up and now hear we are,”

“You’ve done wonderful, love,” Zayn reassured by touching her shoulder, “I would have never come into this club if it wasn’t for you.  You were the only one who could see I was meant for something like this just by seeing me,”

Laura laughed. “I give I do have that talent,” she sighed, “Seriously, I look back at that moment and I still can’t believe I literally dragged into our booth to make you an unofficial beau,”
