Liam’s POV
I checked my phone eagerly for the time and I only have a few more minutes to wait. Sarah is supposed to meet me up here at Misty Oliver’s and I’m nervous about what she has to say to me. I’m hoping since we’re in a public setting that it is good news, but I’m trying to remain realistic. Deep down inside, I want Sarah to be my girlfriend again, but if she says she is no longer interested for sure, I’ll leave her alone.
The lads were telling me if she still says no I should try some more, but I won’t. I understand if she is simply not interested in a relationship right now. Sometimes college is crazy enough without a relationship and I know relationships can sometimes complicate instead of help life situations. I also understand that Sarah could have plausibly fallen out of love with me and while that upsets me, I’ll just have to deal with it.
In a way, I have probably have already pushed her too much into forming a relationship with me again. I don’t want to push her further from me by telling her to come back more than she wants to hear. I will try my best to understand if she is permanently breaks up with me no matter how much I don’t want it to happen.
We’ve been broken up for about almost a month now, but I still hate it. Every day, I wish we were together. I know there’s really nothing I can do to change her opinion, but I can’t help but at least while still on the same continent that she’s on. Even being on a different continent with her is going to be reality soon for me and I can’t stand the thought of that either.
I hear the bell click above the door and Sarah walks in with her precious smile on my face as soon as she sees me. “Liam! So glad you came!” She greeted happily. She gave me a hug and I hugged her back. We let go of the hug. “You want to get a drink first?”
“Sure, we’ll do whatever you want, love,” I told her warmly. She smiled kindly back and we walked to the counter. There was a small line, so we got in line. “What are you getting today?”
“Oh, just a latte, probably the Mr. Blonde, it’s my favorite,” Sarah chimed. “Are you getting your usual of tea or are you doing something else?”
“It’s a bit hot for tea, so I’ll probably do an iced coffee drink of some sorts,” I answered her. “How have you been the past couple days? I haven’t heard much from you,”
“I’ve been busy which is probably why you have not heard from me, but with Spring Sing starting up in less than a week, I should be on a lighter schedule soon. Much lighter and I should more free with my time,” Sarah told me.
“Good,” I replied, “I’ve been really busy with as well with Spring Sing. I’m not looking forward to tomorrow with all of the practicing I’ll have to, but I’m glad Spring Sing is here and I’m ready to be done with it once and for all,”
“I couldn’t agree more,” Sarah added. We were at the front of the line and we ordered our drinks. Sarah tried to pay, but I refused when I pulled out some money. “You know you don’t have to pay for me. This isn’t a date,”
“What if I like buying treats for my friends even the ones I’m not dating?” I asked her. “I like being generous towards the people I care about,”
Sarah blushed at my remarks, but added, “Still, it makes me uncomfortable no matter what the situation is,”
“You’re okay, love. You’ve helped me far better than what a drink can. I think I could buy all the drinks in the world and still not thank you enough for all the tutoring you’ve done,” I complimented her. Sarah smiled back.
