The Other Girlfriend

The Initiation

Zayn’s POV 

                Tonight’s the big night.  I am currently outside in the middle of a giant field with all the officers of Theta Mu as we eagerly await the arrival of the pledges.  All the pledges have turned in their signature forms and now they are ready to be given jerseys and schedules for the upcoming week.  I’ve met all the girls and got close to several of them as all of them came and talked to me. 

                “How much longer do they got?” Erin asked Marsha uncomfortably.  The wind is blowing so it’s a little chilly while we wait for them.

                “I have about 5 minutes.  I’d figure about one or two would be here unless they’re all coming together,” Marsha told us.  In the distance, we see a girl that I think is Cara.  Sure enough, it was her and she screams as soon as she sees us.

                “What’s happening Theta Mu?” Cara said happily raising her hands in the air.

                “I’m so glad you’re here!” Erin said excitedly.  “Just chill with us until the others show up and then we’ll get down to business.  Do you know where the others are?”

                “They’re all coming as a group.  I came by myself since I had work today,” Cara told us.  “In fact, they should be here any minute,” Cara’s voice trails off as she stares in the distance.  Instinctually, the rest of us turn our heads to see a group of girls decked out in pink and blue.  They’re screaming and laughing as they approach.

                “Who are we?” The leader of the group cried.

                “Theta Mu!”  The rest of the group answered.  Cheers emitted from all cheers.  I even clapped and raised my voice too at their audacity.  When the pledge group got to us, they slowly quieted down to low whispers.  At that moment, Erin coughed her throat.

                “Pledges, welcome to Club Week!  We have several things we have to hand out to you.  First off will be a schedule and a club member list including all your names.” Erin said with a happy expression.  Marsha and Cindy begin handing those out to the pledges.  “On our afternoon Tuesday session, you will be tested on every single name on that list.  If you do not get a hundred percent on this test, you will put your one chance to get in this club at a very high risk.  Are we clear?  I want everyone to make a one hundred,”

                The pledges worriedly nodded their heads.

                “We will have other tests, but they will be later as we got to club information.  Tonight, we are only doing a couple things.  First off, you get your jerseys you must wear tomorrow.  We all want you to be proud to be in this sisterhood, so you better prove it to me.”  Erin told them seriously.

                “Challenge accepted.  We have what it takes don’t we?” The leader of the group, Kayla, cried.  The rest of the group cheered voraciously after her stand.  Kayla is probably the boldest girl of the group which is saying something because Theta Mu seems to attract girls like that.

                “We shall see, pledges.  First though, we have to learn the club chant before anything.  We must get ready for club night every single night this coming week starting on Monday.  We have to be prepared for this.  We’re going to be judged on this, so I want to do our best.”  Erin balled one of her fists and dropped it on her flat hand like she was laying down the law.  “Form neat rows, pledges!  The officers and Zayn will show you how this is done.”
