Harry’s POV

“So it went well, I presume?” Liam asked me looking at me concerned.  I adjusted the ice pack on my face.

“You could say that,” I said optimistically. “If you consider the girl saying, ‘screw you’ and then she lands the nastiest punch on the face you’ve ever felt as well,”

“Don’t get down, mate.  It could just be a bad week and a bad time to tell her,” Louis told me.  I look at all four of my mates trying to help me understand my predicament I just had on the way back.  So, I finally admitted that I fancied Jenny which is good I suppose, but then she punched me in the face and walked off just like that.  Trust me, I was expecting a rebuttal, but not that violent.  What is it with me dating violent women recently?

“Maybe so, but she’s been mad at me for a very long time.  I thought I was making progress, but then the whole Spring Sing deal has her stressed out and more unfriendly than usual.  I wouldn’t have said anything if she didn’t force me to say it,” I groaned.

“It’s okay, mate.  Give her more time,” Niall told me.

“How much more?  I’ve given her 3 months,” I said pathetically.

“Honestly, I think the fact you’ve given her that much can only mean one thing,” Zayn said slowly.  I looked at him expectantly and I can feel my heart rushing at what’s he going to say.  I can feel my cheeks blush as he says, “You don’t just fancy her, mate.  I think you love her,”

“Impossible,” I said weakly, “Maybe when things were good, but now?  How can you say that?”

“Mate, your face says everything,” Zayn said simply.  This only makes my cheeks flush even more, “You’ve never worked so hard in your life to get a girl to like you again.  I think in most situations, you would have given up now.”

“But I can’t give up with her,” I moaned, “Not when there’s chance for improvement.  I know a part of her wants me,” I said now with confidence, “It’s just now when we talk, there’s so much tension between us.”

“What kind of tension?” Louis asked with what he calls his ‘sexy voice’.

“Several types, physical, emotional, relational, you name it it’s there,” I told him.

“Didn’t you tell me you were going to meet up with friends to do theory homework?” Niall asked randomly.  I checked my watch and colorful words slipped out.

“Yeah, I did.  I have to go,” I put down the ice pack, “How’s the bruise?”  I see their cringing faces.

“It’s very yellow and purple and big,” Louis commented.

“Too bad we don’t have any makeup, you could use some,” Zayn told him.  I shoot him an offended look and he throws up his hands.

“Don’t be surprised if people asked,” Liam added.

“Thanks,” I said simply.  I collected my notes and homework for theory and I walk out of the dorm.  I walk for a few minutes alone and I actually enjoy the time to reflect for a moment what all has happened recently.  I almost make it to my destination, but then I hear her.
