Jenny’s POV

Today is Niall’s birthday and I am in the boys’ dorm kitchen with all the ingredients the boys bought me.  Harry, Liam, Louis, and Zayn are all there with big grins on their faces ready for me to make desserts for the party tonight.  Fortunately, I have Sarah here to help me keep the boys calm.  “So what’s on the menu for tonight?” Harry asked expectantly.

“Well, I’m making Niall a sheet cake and I was also going to do slutty brownies as well if we found enough pans to pull that off.  Did y’all get candles?” I asked them.  Harry pulled them out of the shopping bag. “Good deal.  Sarah, can you check to see what we have in utensils?  I’m assuming not much.”

Sarah smiled and she searched the cabinets for pans and spatulas.  Meanwhile I sorted the ingredients out to separate my items for the cake separate from the brownies.  I probably should hide the jar of icing for the cake or the tube of cookie dough and the box of Oreos for that matter.  I watch their eyes drooling over the food. “I think we’ll be ok, Jenny.  I see two pans we can use for baking both items and two bowls and some utensils to mix ingredients up with.” Sarah said cheerily.

“Perfect!” I exclaimed. “Pull those out so we can get to work.  Do y’all want to help or are you going to stare at the ingredients all day long?” I teased.

“We can help.” Harry said excitedly. “I used to work at a bakery in England!  Working there was how I was able to afford the plane tickets here!”

“You see this roll of cookie dough?” I asked all them.  They all grinned happily. I grabbed one of the pans Sarah pulled for us. “I want y’all to squish that roll until the entire bottom of the pan is covered.  Got it?” I winked.  They nodded and opened the tube to get to work.

“This is going to be fun.  I’ve never flattened cookie dough before!” Louis cheered.

“I can make the brownie batter while you work on the cake.” Sarah offered.

“That’ll be great.  Thank you so much, Sarah.  For some odd reason, Callie isn’t coming till much later.”  I said.  Sarah instantly went to work on the batter using the ingredients I sorted to make it.  Meanwhile, I went to work on the cake which was going to take more time in the oven.

“It’s like we’re making a cookie cake, but better because it has a brownie layer and cookies!” Harry talked while they continued making the cookie layer.  “Did you bring your guitar, Jenny?”

“Yeah, it’s over there in the back.  I just wanted it out of the way for the cooking part.” I told him.

“Makes sense, love.  I’m glad you brought it.  Niall is bringing his when he gets here and Louis found someone who was willing to lend their keyboard to us.”

“Good job, Louis.” I gave a thumbs up in his direction.

“It’s no big deal.  The guy should be here in about 5 minutes to bring it.” Louis told me.

“I think we’re finished with this task, does it look good to you, Sarah?” Liam asked her.

“Oh, don’t ask me.  Ask Jenny.  She’s the head cook around here.” Sarah looked in my direction and I stopped mixing the batter temporarily to look at the guys’ handiwork.  The cookie layer was indeed nice and flat and covered the entire bottom of the pan.
