Jenny’s POV
“We should get out of this place,” Sarah said to me as we lay on our beds after a hard day of classes. None of our friend group has practice today which is incredible considering how many different shows all of us are involved in.
“And where are you suggesting we go to?” I asked. Sarah shuffled around to where she was facing me.
“How about Sugarloaf? I’ve heard that’s a cool place,” Sarah suggested.
“Sugarloaf? That’s only like thirty minutes away, right?” I asked.
“I think so,” Sarah said thoughtfully. Sarah pulled out her phone and searched for directions.
“That could be fun. Hike around for an hour or two and get away from this place. You know, that’s a great idea actually. I can only handle Van Buren in limited doses at times,” I complimented.
“Same,” Sarah replied, “Yeah, according to the directions I found, it should only take 30 minutes to get there. I’ll call Liam,” Sarah then makes a few swift movements on the phone and dials Liam’s number. I can tell when he answers by the expression on her face. She’s so cute when she’s with him. I just hope they can make it through this busy semester. Both of them are doing part time jobs and Spring Sing, so some days I worry for them, but right now, they’re still doing good.
“Hey!” Sarah said, “Jenny and I were wondering if all of y’all wanted to come to Sugarloaf with us? It’s a tiny little mountain where we can just hike around for a few hours and just get away from campus for the afternoon and night,” Sarah paused as she waited for a response. Sarah is smiling so I know that what means, “Great, we’ll see you around 3:30 then, ok, bye,” Sarah hangs up on her phone. “All of them are coming and we’ll meet them in the lobby in a few minutes. We have time to just sit until then,”
“Just what I want to hear,” I said approvingly. “I’ve been only to like 3 practices and I’m already dreading it. I mean I have in my director that it’ll be a good show, but the hours it’ll take,” I trailed off as I felt the ridiculous amount of the hours coming down on me. “And on top of that, I have to do private practices with Harry and the director which is going to be so awkward after my temper tantrum,”
“I’m sure Harry understands,” Sarah said simply. “But you said you slapped him after he said he liked you?” I nodded. “Why? Doesn’t some little part of you still want him? Or at least, that’s what your sleep talking voice suggests,” Sarah said quietly. I furrowed my eyebrows at her about the last part. “Ok, so I notice you talking in your sleep. Still sometimes you go ‘Harry!’ and I can’t help but wonder what you’re dreaming.”
“I honestly don’t know. One part of me truly believes him, but then the other part is still so pissed at him that I want to do nothing with him. It’s like those romantic stories where my hatred is slowly turning around to something…not so hateful,” I said. It is true I still don’t like him for what’s he done, but then I think of who he has changed into and I admire that change. Whether it’s enough change, I don’t know.
“I’ve always been attracted to him, there’s no question. I still blush when I think of what happened between us, but I have a hard time believing it will happen again though,” I confessed.
