Jenny’s POV

“Are you about to head out?” Sarah asked me.  I turned in her direction as I neared the door.  The break officially ended today, and I am back in the swing of school life.  Fortunately, this semester I will be rooming with Sarah for real instead of unofficially like last semester and our suitemates this time are Elizabeth, one of my lovely club sisters, and Cara.

So far this living situation was been much more ideal than last semester and I like being around Cara all the time in addition to Sarah.  I couldn’t be happier about how lucky we are to be all together and hang out with the same people.  “Yeah, I have a club meeting about a big project coming up or something?  Isn’t your club meeting tonight?” I asked her.

“Most of the clubs are, but since not many people from my club get involved in what you’re meeting on, we don’t hold a special meeting about it,” Sarah told me.

“So you think this meeting will be on—” I started.

“Yes,” Sarah answered hesitantly.  I simply nod and I feel myself cringe at the thought.  Hopefully, I don’t have to participate, but I have a funny feeling I have zero choice in the matter unlike Sarah.  “Have fun at the meeting!”

“I’ll try to,” I said bitterly.  I walk out the door the same time as Elizabeth and we walk together to where our meeting is.  Elizabeth must not be looking forward to this either because she is also silent on our way to where our club meetings are held.  When we walk in the room, all the freshmen are huddled separately from everyone else, so we join our fellow freshmen and take a seat.

“Beauties!” Michelle cried over the crowd.  Everyone fell silent and turned toward Michelle.  “Tonight we are holding a special meeting to discuss Spring Sing.”  Groans filled the room and many eyes were rolled. “I know, I know most of us don’t like it, but it’s necessary for us to do it as a club.  And I know some of you really enjoyed the past couple years.  If you haven’t heard, we are teaming up with Zeta Beta our brother club and LOGE,”

Wait, Harry could be in the same show as me.  Oh crap.  That means we could wind up having to stay close to each other at all times.  Panic button has been engaged within me.  “I do not know many details about the Spring Sing and they are remained strictly under wrap by the directors of this year’s show.  While I say directors, really there is only one true director this year and she has two co-directors who only help her guide her decisions on how to conduct the show.

“I wish she could be here to introduce herself, but she had a meeting with the director with the whole show to submit our show and her idea of the show.  She has to submit various forms to clear her project and for us to be able to work on it.  The other directors are members of Zeta Beta, so they are currently at the Zeta Beta meeting over this topic.

“In the meantime, I am here to answer all questions concerning Spring Sing and participation rules.  New pledges from last semester, you are required to be a full time member in order to stay in the club,” I knew it.  I should’ve seen this coming.  I feel my body tensing and losing breath.  “Unless you give me a really amazing reason as to why you can’t do it, you are doing the show, no exceptions.  People who have done Spring Sing full part in the past are highly encouraged to come back and do full part.  However, we always people who willing to take small parts and features.”

“Anyone interested in or are required to do Spring Sing will have a meeting at the end of the week with the director at the President’s Auditorium.  She will tell you details of the show and go over how you try out, and practice skips.  Any questions?” Michelle finally stopped talking and all the freshmen had worried expressions on their.  One of my friends threw a hand in the air. “Yes?”
