Jenny’s POV

“Jenny!” I heard Jake cry from the distance.  As soon as I see him, I smile and I run over to give him a hug.  This is our first date, so hopefully I won’t mess anything up.  I don’t want another traitor in my life anytime soon and if I can prevent it, I will most definitely give it my all.

“Jake, it’s good to see you.  Are we headed to the cafeteria?” I asked him.

“The cafeteria?  Why would we do that?  Let’s go out.  It’s our first date, it needs to be special,” Jake said excitedly winking at me.  The wink causes me to have a slight blush as Jake grabs my hand and leads me to his car.  I forgot most of the students have their own cars even most of the foreigners.  I guess that’s what I get for dragging British boys everywhere (minus Louis).

Jake opened the door for me and as I hopped into the passenger side, Jake gets in the driver seat.  He turns on the car and he begins driving.  “Where are we going?” I asked him curiously.

“It’s a surprise.  You won’t know until we’re there,” Jake smiled mischievously.  I probably shouldn’t be going on this date right now, but Jake asked me to eat with him so I simply couldn’t refuse.  I mean a few weeks should be enough time to get over a relationship.  The bitterness is slowly fading and I’m starting to feel lighter by this occasion.

“I can’t wait.  I’m sure I’ll like it no matter what,” I told him sincerely.  It’s been a long time since I’ve not had cafeteria food or random junk from the supermarket, so this is should be nice.  Jake looked at me dead in the eyes and I could feel my heart rate accelerate when he did that.

“You’re beautiful, you know that?” Jake said suddenly.  I’m taken aback by his comment, but I regain composure.

“Thanks, Jake.  You’re handsome too,” I answered back shyly.  Jake just laughed lightly.

“I think we both know who is more attractive here,” Jake said suggestively.  I blush harder at that comment.  Is he trying to embarrass me or is he being really nice?  I’m not too sure since we’ve only talked a couple times by this point.  As we get closer to the destination, Jake slows down until we are in the parking lot.

It’s a local restaurant, so I’m looking forward to it already.  We get out of the car and we make our way into the waiting area.  Since it’s the Friday that break started, the place is packed.  Jake reserves a table and we sit down until we get a table.  There’s some silence between us for a few minutes as we scan over the menu.

Neither of us has been here, so we’re examining to discover what we should get.  Finally a few moments Jake spoke up.  “I hope you like the type of foods they have here.”

“It looks good, Jake.  I’m glad you picked this place out,” I smiled gracefully.  Jake was now the one blushing.

“Thanks, Jenny.  Are you doing better since we first talked?  It sounds you have gotten better,” Jake asked me.  The whole thought of remembering where I was dampens my mood, but not enough to blow this entire date.

“Yeah,” I said somberly, “I am.  It’s been hard, but slowly I’m becoming more pleasant,”

“That’s good.  That jerk was an idiot to cheat on you and lie to your face,” Jake said bluntly.  Well, I’m glad someone agrees with me.  Niall told me the other day that Harry wanted his forgiveness and he would break up with Callie any day now, but I’d rather not deal with Harry till after break.
