"You know, she might stop calling every five minutes if you answer the phone instead of just staring at it."  Parker told Kristina as she kissed the top of her head. "It's been a month, Kristina. She probably just wants to know I haven't killed you."
Kristina stared at the screen. She'd been avoiding the wrath of her over protective mother for weeks now. She knew what would happen if she answered, and she wasn't in any hurry to hear the lecture or the guilt trip, regardless of how unintentional it may be.
That being said, her girlfriend had a point. She rolled her eyes but answered the call.
"Hello?" She said into the phone and Parker got off the couch to make her way into the kitchen so Kristina and her mother could have some privacy.
"Kristina? Oh my god! Are you okay? Do you know how worried I've been? I've-" Alexis started but was  abruptly cut off by her daughter.
"I'm sorry mom, we've just been really busy getting settled in. I haven't talked to anyone really. " Kristina replied, already regretting answering the phone.  "I'm fine, I promise."
She knew her mother's heart was in the right place, but sometimes her she could drive her insane, especially when it came to her being with Parker.  She still despised the fact that she was once her professor and that she's the reason that Kristina dropped out of school, or so she thinks. Kristina had planned on going back to school later on, but she hadn't really mentioned that to her mother yet.
"I know you are angry with me Kristina, but I still love you and I want to make sure you're safe. I can't do that if you are all the way in Oregon." Alexis told her.
"Mom," Kristina sighed. "I'm an adult. I have been for a while now. I can make my own decisions." She really did understand why Alexis was so upset, but if this was the only way she and Parker were going to be able to be together, than so be it.
"How about this," Alexis began. "Thanksgiving is coming up. Why don't you two come home for the holidays and I'll see what I can do about getting Parker her job back while you're here?"
Kristina knew this was going to happen. This was exactly what she was worried about.
"I don't know mom-" She started to say but was interrupted.
"Just talk to your lady friend and think about it okay? At least try and come home for Thanksgiving dinner, we all love and miss you. But hey, I have to go into court, so I will have to call you back later. Please do your best to answer the phone when I do, okay?" Her mother said.
"Alright, I'll talk to you later. Bye mom." She said and she hung up the phone.
Shit! This is gonna be fun, She said to herself with a deep sigh.
Parker walked back into the living room with 2 cups of coffee and sat back down on the couch after handing Kristina a mug. "How did that go?" She asked as she opened up her arms. Kristina leaned back into them and took a sip of her drink. "It was sooooo much fun," she said sarcastically. "Ahahaha," Parker laughed a fake laugh. "Seriously though, how did it go? Was it as bad as you thought it would be?"  She asked and wrapped her arms around the smaller girl.
"That all depends," Kristina replied. She lifted her heard and looked up at her partner. "How do you feel like having the holidays back in Port Charles?"
Parker's face did this thing when she was in awkward situations and right now, it was doing it's thing. Kristina spoke up fairly quickly.
"Babe, we really don't have to go if you don't want to. It's not like I'm really that anxious to go either." She sat up and turned around so they could be face to face.
"It's not that actually. I think we should go, and I know you don't want to. I don't blame you, but I really think you need to fix things with your mother. Now would be a good time to do that, before you two start hating each other. " Parker told her. She saw the look she was getting but refused to back down. "I'm serious honey. Let's just go. Besides, it's not you they hate." She said with a laugh. Kristina gave her a smirk but it was hiding a laugh that was begging to come out.
"She did tell me she would try and do something about getting you your job back. She wants us to go home. I'm gonna leave that up to you though, because I'm completely fine with staying here, just putting that out there." Kristina told her and leaned in for a quick kiss that was permitted in no time.
"Let's just get through the holidays first," Parker joked as she sipped her coffee. "We'll talk about that more down the line when we're there. My apartment was sold already and without work in that area, it's going to be hard just getting into a new place."
"Maybe for you love, but your brother doesn't own Apartment complexes and your dad isn't a mob boss." Kristina flirted her way into her girlfriend's personal space and took the mug from her hands and placed it on the table next to hers.  "I guess that's true. What was I ever thinking dating a mob princess?'' Parker asked with a fake gasp. "Give me ten minutes and I'll remind you of a million reasons." Kristina told her with a smile and that she did.
