Kristina woke up to the smell of coffee in the kitchen. Parker was still asleep, so she kissed her cheek and got up to let her sleep a little longer. She placed the blanket over her girlfriend once more, then she made her way into the next room.
"Is the bed not comfortable enough for you?" Alexis said with an awkward smile as she handed her daughter a cup.
"My bed is just fine, thanks. I just got used to sharing a bed with Parker. It's hard for me to sleep by myself now, so I ended up sleeping on the couch with her. I thought it might be okay considering there was no way we wouldn't have been somewhat supervised." Kristina explained. "We might just go to the Metro tonight. I'm not sure yet."
"Or you could save some cash and you two could just stay here," Her mother offered.  "You both can sleep in your room. I might have slightly...." Alexis waved her hands around a little to put the emphasis on what she was trying to say, "overreacted a bit last night. I walked into a conversation that I wouldn't want to hear any of my girls having, joking or not. Please cut your mother some slack."
Kristina suppressed a snicker. "I'll talk to Parker, but I don't think she cares either way. I think she's just glad we came. She was really worried that we were going to end up hating each other." She took a drink of he coffee.
"I could never hate you Kristina, I hope you know that. We might butt heads all the time, and we might go without speaking for a while, but I am always here for you. I love you regardless of who you are with or what you choose to do with your life. I'm always going to be your mother. I'm glad she convinced you to come. I'll have to be sure to thank her again." Just then, they heard a loud THUMP  in the next room.
Kristina walked in and found Parker getting up from the floor, still half asleep. "Babe! What happened?" She asked with concern. Meanwhile Alexis was standing in the entry way to the living room not even trying to hide her amusement.
"I think it's pretty clear what happened." She said through a laugh. "Your girlfriend fell off the couch."
Kristina looked at Parker who was making a face that proved what Alexis had said to be true. Kristina smiled.
"Are you okay?'' She asked the girl as she helped her up off of the floor. "Do you want some coffee or anything?"
"I'll go make you a cup, Parker." Alexis told her, and went back into the kitchen to retrieve another mug.
"Thank you Alexis, and I'm fine Kristina. I Just... moved a little." She said with a laugh. "I've definitely had worse injuries, if that's what you're concerned about."
"Well you don't have to worry about all of," Kristina waved her hands around for emphasis, " This anymore. Even if we don't go to the Metro Court, we'll have my bed tonight. I've already talked to mom about it."
"I can't say I'd complain, not that I don't enjoy you in my personal space," Parker told her girlfriend with a smile as she leaned in for a quick kiss. "Good morning."
Kristina returned another quick kiss. "Yeah? Well I'll say this now, I better be the only person in your 'personal space'. " She replied jokingly and wrapped her arms around the taller girls shoulders, who in turn, wrapped hers around the smaller girl's waist.
"I think it's pretty obvious that I don't really care for anyone else but you, but hey, I'm only a teacher. What do I know?" Parker laughed at the look Kristina made but then their moment  was interrupted when Alexis came back with Parker's coffee.
"I hope nothing hurts too bad," Alexis told her, handing her the drink. Parker took it. "Nah, I'm fine. Like I told Kristina, I've had worse injuries. Thank you for the coffee by the way. " She said as she took a sip.
"You're welcome," Her girlfriend's mother replied. "I was wondering if I could speak to you actually. Can we talk in the kitchen?" Alexis asked her. Parker gave Kristina a look that was returned with a shoulder shrug. "Sounds alright to me. I'll be right back." She told Kristina squeezing her hand and following Alexis into the kitchen.
"I made a few calls this morning, and I wanted to tell you that I was in fact able to get you your job back," Alexis explained.
Parker smiled. She couldn't help it. She really hated the fact that she had lost her job and was completely confused as to how she lost it in the first place. "Thank you! Really, Thank you!" Parker told her. Alexis smiled back at her genuinely. "I'm happy to help Kristina in anyway, and right now to help her I need to help you. That being said, there are going to be some new rules on campus that you will  have to follow to keep this job."
Parker gave Alexis a confused look, so Alexis just came right out and said it. "You can't be seen with Kristina on campus, regardless of the fact that she's not a minor or going to school there anymore. That's the deal I was able to get with the Dean."
"So What you're saying is... That if I want my job back, I have to hide my relationship?" Parker thought about it for a minute. "I'm going to have to talk to Kristina about this before I make any decisions. We were really happy finally being out in the open, and I'm not sure how she's going to feel about going back into hiding."
Parker's mood went from thrilled to nervous. This could very well cause a fight with Kristina and her mother, and she knew it. She was NOT looking forward to the conversation she and her leading lady would soon be having.
